Hilary Rosen, a partner at SKDKnickerbocker, the PR firm of former Obama communications director Anita Dunn, charged that Ann Romney "hasn't worked a day in her life" and suggested that Ann Romney can't possibly understand economic issues because she's a lowly homemaker.
What you have is Mitt Romney running around the country saying, Well, my wife tells me what women really care about are economic issues. And, When I listen to my wife, thats what Im hearing. Guess what? His wife has never actually worked a day in her life. Shes never really dealt with the economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facingin terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school, and how dowhy we worry about their future.
In the same breath Rosen ironically says:
... theres something much more fundamental about Mitt Romneyhe just seems so old-fashioned when it comes to women, and I think that comes across, and I think thats going to hurt him over the long term. He just doesnt really see us as equal.
Yes, there is something old-fashioned about the belief that a homemaker couldn't understand the complexity of the economics affecting her household. Rosen apparently subscribes to the Linda Hirschman worldview, one that posits women are only as valuable as their contributions outside the home, unrelated to children and family. Rearing up the next generation that will someday run the world is woefully under appreciated.

This woman is grasping. So, a woman who raises her children and does probably all the shopping has no idea of economics? Wow. This woman has lost touch on the diversity of family structures.
She’s under this idea if someone isn’t making money then they don’t care how it’s spent. I guess like the mentality of democratic politicians!
Well, if she figured out how to buy thirty dollars worth of necessities for ten dollars then I suppose you could say that she actually did save twenty with that ten. My mother could run a household on what some people throw away. Those of us old enough to remember know that the women of America used to be the glue that held civilization together. It is obvious what is happening now that women have abandoned that role. Men cannot fill that role, we can either be men or nothing but we can never fill that role.
Actually, the left, ever since Genesis, has conducted a war on families.
The family was the first God-created human institution, and His enemy has been out to destroy it ever since.
The only working woman for a democrate is a whore, a slut or a good girl shutting up while getting raped by Bill Clinton.
If this is true, you gotta hand it to The RATS.
They are getting us to come to the defense of one of their own.
Hats off to The RATS.
WOW! So, I, as a stay home mom to 2 (will be 3 in a couple of months), who homeschools our children, does all of our shopping, is in charge of paying 75% of our bills...I know nothing of economics or educating my children.
Gosh...that just makes me want to run to the store and buy a quart of Ben and Jerry’s and tune the tv to OWN and live up to my stereotype. Alas...children need science lessons, a car ride to the ice rink for lessons, and I need to make a trip to the grocery...no Ben and Jerry’s...and we don’t have cable TV...oh, and the dog needs a few walks...
Need to remind myself: I am a lazy, ignorant woman who leeches off of my hard working hubby.
Being unable to listen to Romney for more than a fraction of a second, I don't know that he is going around saying stuff like this. If he is, he's an idiot. He's playing their game.
Just one more reason we'll be screwed if he becomes President.
Just one more reason to get as many Tea Partiers as possible elected to Congress.
Can we play “Swap Wives”?
Hillary Rosen takes care of Ann Romney’s 5 kids for a week and Ann Romney sits behind a desk shooting off her mouth for a week?
The War on Moms doesn’t include indolent welfare moms because, well, Who the hell knows why? Nothing they believe makes any sense.
Thats right. Dems have no respect for all you stay at home moms. Free contraception and access to abortion are what they are about.
Dana Loesch is awesome, she is the new Brietbart!!!
Democrats (and Obama) are all about a war on anything conventionally American.
They are about murdering our future citizens at a rate of millions per year through abortion.
They are about enslaving Americans through EBT, EITC, SCHIP, SNAP, AFDC and Section 8 housing to keep them on the hated plantation they rave about Conservatives wanting to keep them on.
They are about inciting war between races because they see profit in havoc.
They are about victimhood and preference, propped up with specious claims of prior harm done.
They are about robbing every productive citizen’s blood-worth and giving it to their victims. It’s all about ‘fairness’.
In short, they are about just one thing - evil, pure and simple. Godless humanists and, with Obama, prophets of Islam seeking to enslave us all
Have you ever read the ‘Feminist Mystique’? If so, you missed a few pages about housewives being subjected to “comfortable concentration camps’ as the Godless creature describe in her rants.
Laz is correct, but but off by several degrees of hyperbolic beliefs of the Godless creature who echoed/peddled in a most ignorant and bombastic manner.
Quite apart from that, “lowly homemakers” know plenty about the economy. They shop. They live within the budget that their husband’s earnings prescribe, and most of all, they drive a lot, and when compelled to by economic forces, they work even if they don’t want to.
I would rather have a housewives in Congress/Presidency than a bunch of Ivy League indoctrinated ignoramuses. At least housewives can balance budgets.
(There's noting in a liberals head but dust. If things ever came down to the survival of the fittest, these people would become obsolete.)
Even though I detest Mitt, I wont stand for Ann being attacked!
And I especially wont allow this leftist lesbian to insult all stay at home moms!
grr...
