Trayvon Martin’s mother Sybrina Fulton told the TODAY show Thursday that she believes her son’s fatal shooting by George Zimmerman was an accident.

“I believe it was an accident, I believe that it just got out of control and he couldn’t turn the clock back," she said.

I don’t know who looks more stupid here. The race baiters or the state, who brought these charges out of fear of the race baiters.

Here's what I now believe... the prosecutor/ state has met with the Martin family, sharing all they know of the evidence, and of course they have truthful testimony from Zimmerman by way of a lie detector assisted confession. That evidence shows that Trayvon was the aggressor, was belligerent, and did threaten the life and limb of Z, and likely shows there was struggle for the gun.

I could only stomach just so much of the news conference after the prosecutor referred to the parents as "sweet" and that as prosecutor she just wanted "justice for Trayvon."

Why would Zim apologize to the Martin’s? If his story is true then he was viciously attacked and Trayvon attempted to murder him. In such a case, the Martin’s should apologize to Zim for their thug son’s behavior.

Not so fast there. Zimmerman will move for dismissal based on having statutory immunity. Corey or whoever she punts this to will have to produce evidence and argument that establish it is more likely than not, that Zimmerman did NOT act is reasonable fear of death or serious injury.

I have seen a few pics of him and his parents. But they show a 6 foot tall 160 pound Trayvon, not a 5 foot tall skinny 13 year old Trayvon, so they have been suppressed or removed from the airwaves.....

I thought it was unusual she asked everyone to pray for the Martin Family. Sure they had a terrible loss, but thought that was out of place considering the purpose of the press conference and showed her lack of independence in 'getting to the truth' (her words).

Whether parents are sweet or not has no bearing on a case.. Jeffrey Dahmer had sweet parents, too.

The apology, warranted or not, would be to appease the Martins, and to put the whole case behind all of them.

Perhaps she is trying to deal with her son’s death without bitterness, and move on. Hope so for her sake. A cynic might think that the Homeowner Association’s insurance policy covers accidents but not willfull misconduct and unlawful acts.

I am not operating out of the assumption of anything.

I don’t know what evidence the prosection has. Nobody does but Zimmerman’s defense.

But if the mother of Trayvon believes it was an accident, she may know more than we do.

You have to admit that now Trayvon’s mother believes it to be a tragic accident, it makes the charges look more suspect.
