What a day where I work...but things are settled down now...so I missed the first hour—and just caught up with thread.
I’m a mom of five myself. Four boys and one daughter; oldest two are out of house. I cannot tell you how pi$$ed I am at this Rosen chick and a whole bunch of posters in the blogosphere. How freaking ignorant of life can these people be? I could go off on a full fledge rant about the realities of child reading, juggling (funds and time!) of now working crappy part time jobs (from being out of the “work force”) to make ends meet. And, to read the comments on news sites, I’m lazy and stupid (add idle if defining Ann Romney).
I guess I should have spent my youth demanding birth control—the I would be heralded!

And the Obama’s couldnt “exist” one salary? Oh wait, they didn’t have the luxury of Michelle staying home (and live on genius lawyer, Harvard grad, state legislator, adjunct professor salary?). Maybe the operative word is luxury—because we did it for years.

Rosen: 'I Apologize to Ann Romney'
Amid a massive backlash from the American public and a stampeding retreat from her supporters, Democratic National Committee advisor Hilary Rosen backtracked from her words about Ann Romney last night on CNN, stating a few moments ago, “As a pundit, I know my words on CNN last night were poorly chosen … I apologize to Ann Romney.” The report of that statement comes from Jim Acosta at CNN.
The question is whether the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee will apologize to Romney, and whether they will fire Rosen over this incident. Rosen has long been associated with the Obama team and the DNC, and her apology means virtually nothing given the fact that she has defended her comments at length over the past 24 hours. Only pressure from inside the Obama campaign and DNC forced this apology.
Even then, she apologized to Romney for her wording, not for the point she was making.
