It was suggested to me yesterday that, based on the speed of the Axelrod/Michelle twitter reactions that this could well have been a set up rather than an accident. A remark offensive only to some, which allowed the administration to take the high ground by criticizing one of their operatives, while opening the issue for their allies in the media.

I think this got away faster than anyone on the RAT side ever suspected.

They were in full spin/damage control mode yesterday. My impression was that the implicit message to everyone was “Shut-up and this will go away by 11:00 PM.” Biden, the NAG whore, and now this TIME b!tch have resurrected it for at least another 24-hours.

I wonder if the popcorn is ready yet.

Never worked...is that anything like a core Dem voter who lives in public housing, swipes an EBT card for 'essentials' and raises another generation of same?

Ann is different than most women. In a way this is true because of the family’s wealth, but I’d bet that Hilary Rosen is even more different than most women. Aside from the fact that she doesn’t have money worries, Ann is living a normal family-centered life. Hilary is a gay adoptive mother who is a major opinion-molder for the left. How conventional, and how similar to most women’s lives, is that?

I am personally out of touch with mothers with six kids; 4 surnames among them.

I am personally out of touch with loud mouthed lesbians gaming the system for state support

I am personally out of touch with illegal aliens living off the state teat and sending my money back home

We’re all out of touch with some demographic. It’s not to Ann Romney’s discredit that some folks can’t identify with a heroic mother of five who has handled cancer and MS but somehow didn’t get a “real” job.

Whatever. Her husband is still a socialist trying to lie and buy his way into the White House.

The Left is welcome to just keep on talking about this. Romney and others only need to make sure that Rosen equals Obama. Of course I’m talking about the Stupid Party actually pressing an advantage, so I’m dreaming. This should be two weeks worth of gaffe for the Obama reelection team to deal with.

So now we have a liberal Democrat in the news media telling us Rosen is right. So what else is new?

Rosen’s statement was part of the Democrat’s campaign to paint the Romney’s as out-of-touch. That’s ironic, since nobody can be more out-of-touch with the country than Barack Obama.

I think it was more like ‘let’s tell our operatives to attack Ann Romney and see how that flies’

Rosen (all 3 of her, according to Jay Carnival CLown Carney) will find herself comfortable under Obama’s bus, with the rest of the leftists he uses for batting practice.

You assume more competence to those twenty something whitebreads who are the core of Obama’s campaign machine when you assume a strategy for this blunder. My theory is that this was a big friggin surprise to them because they have never been tested substantially. McCain was a goof and his staff was goofier.

OTOH, this was an opening skirmish and the democrats will adapt. I think Romney will too. Fasten your seatbelts.

I agree that it was intentional, scripted and pure political theater from beginning to end.

But the way to fight back is to listen to what Rush Limbaugh is saying on the issue and repeat his words, which emphasize something that even the Romney camp seems too timid to emphasize:

Ann Romney was not just talking from her own experience (which is limited, let’s face it, by the fact that she’s a rich woman). She was talking from the experience of thousands of women she has talked to on the campaign trail in the past year.

Rush Limbaugh strongly emphasized that point and I’m very surprised and disappointed that the Romney camp is not also strongly emphasizing it.

As we all feared, we most likely have a McCain 2.0, who will never stand up to the lies of the media, the lies of the DNC and the lies of the Obama campaign. (Pardon the repetition at the end of that sentence.)

in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school, and why do we worry about their future

Ann didn’t feed her children?

Ann didn’t send them to school?

Ann doesn’t worry about her childrens future?

poppycock!

They were still able to vilify her which was the goal. She is now damaged goods as opposed to the brilliant graft taking Michelle. Will anybody question her years at Chicago U hospital with the fake job?

Pray for America

I don’t think they are that clever. One thing about Obama is how ham-handed he and his ops are.

I think they perceived (correctly) that Ann Romney is the greatest asset Mitt possesses and they were looking to destroy her early on.

But, they have no subtlety these people. They are all a bunch a screaming maniacs, right out of some 1970s “consciousness raising” or primal scream session.

They can never hide their contempt.

This blew up in their faces, deservedly so.

Possibly, but since CNNCBSNBCABC ARE the mouthpieces of the Obama Lie Machine and they (CNN) are the authors of this particular lie, then that puts them into the ironic situation of putting forth the lie on the one and and condemning it with the other, so to speak...

They’d better be careful. They’re gonna confuse their poor little sheep victim moron voters....

This article is absurd - the so called Mommy wars are not over. Most mothers would prefer to raise their own children and be with them during their early formation. The bad economy has forced them to work. Men (Fathers) are having a hard time finding jobs. Pressuring mothers to work and breaking up the traditional family is a socialist construct so children will end up with more loyalty to the state than their own families. Just look at Sweden.

The next time I’m in a doctor’s (or any other) waiting room and “Time” magazine is there, I’m going to put it under my shirt and remove it from the premisis...then, burn it. No Americans work at Time any longer.

Using the same logic:

Obama has never been poor in his life, so he’s out of touch with the poor.

Obama has never been a woman in his life, so he’s out of touch with women.

Obama has never been homosexual in his life, so he’s out of touch with homosexuals.

Ann Romney’s economic knowledge

Consider the thousands of economists, financial analysts, governmental departments, prestigous economics departments at universities and so forth that we have relied on to guide America’s economics. They have guided us into our big mess.

We ordinary Americans allowed ourselves to be led into economic territory that can be understood only by the experts, and the experts assured that the right things were being done.

The expertes obviously didn’t understand what they were doing (or are collectively corrupt). Why not be guided by the Ann Romneys and numerous other ordinary people to whom good economics is horse sense and discipline rather than elaborate mechanisms for taking additional risk?
