WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama called on likely Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney to release more of his tax returns, in an interview with Univision released on Saturday.
Obama's campaign has been pushing Romney, a multi-millionaire former private equity executive, to release several years of his prior tax returns to shed light on how he amassed his wealth.
In an interview conducted on Friday and released on Saturday, an anchor for the Spanish-language network noted Obama had released his tax returns for 12 years and asked him if Romney should do the same.
"Absolutely," the president replied, according to a transcript.
"I think that it's important for any candidate in public office to be as transparent as possible, to let people know who we are, what we stand for, and you know, I think that this is just carrying on a tradition that has existed throughout the modern presidency."

3) Obama’s adoption records — sealed
4) Records of Obama’s and his mother’s repatriation as US citizens on return from Indonesia — not found, not released
5) Name change (Barry Sotero to Barack Hussein Obama) records — not found, not released
6) Noelani Elementary School (Hawaii) — not released
7) Punahou School financial aid or school records — not released
8) Occidental College financial aid records — not released. (These records were, however, subpoenaed but Obama lawyers succeeded in quashing the subpoena in court. No other Occi records have been released.)
9) Columbia College records — not released
10) Columbia senior thesis — not released
11) Harvard Law School records (not mentioned below, but not released)
12) Obama’s law client list — sealed
13) Obama’s files from career as an Illinois State Senator — sealed

This is a golden opportunity to say “Sure, I’ll release my tax returns - just as soon as you release your passport records, college transcripts, and all the other stuff that you’ve spent millions hiding.”

Never a better prescription for failure. We have way too much evidence, that shows, when Repubs foolishly, turn 'truth to a weakness'- as they appear compelled to do - failure follows.
We are left to only hope they have figured there really IS an ENEMY in our midst - and the truth of that; must be dealt with - up front and head on.
