I see you’re new; welcome....
Sounded to me like he’s against professional welfare breeders rather than stay-at-home mothers whose husbands are Not the government. Since when do conservatives disagree with this?
Since when do we not believe in the “dignity of work” instead of being supported by those who do?
Since when did we take up the “newspeak” of liberals and the immediate assault of anyone whose words can be twisted to become assaultable ......... by liberals.
Something has gone pretty wrong here. I’m sure I’m not the only member wondering what.
And no, I do not support Romney and never have, so keep those accusations to yourselves.
I have been a real conservative for 48 years since I was old enough to vote. Are all conservatives equal, or are some more equal than others now?
“Since when do we not believe in the ‘dignity of work’ instead of being supported by those who do?”
Last I checked we don’t call people who have children, breeders, nor do we regard a stay at home mom as ‘lacking the dignity of work.’
Work, earning a honest living, certainly, but women are to be commended for staying at home and raising their children.
Try and keep up, this is about Romney not me.
I know WHO it’s about; you obviously don’t know WHAT it’s about!
Thank you!!!! I became a stay at home mom not by choice but by necessity. I gave birth to my son 12 weeks early. I planned on going back to work. That all changed when we left the hospital with so much equipment that we had to put up a special shelf over his bed to accommodate all of it. We we not allowed to leave until we learned infant CPR and how to inti-bate him in case he stopped breathing. As we shook the doctor's hand when saying good-bye, he said to me “just a reminder, if you are more than 15 seconds away from this monitor when it goes off your baby may die”. Going back to work was not even an option after hearing that. Sure, it was rough, but it was worth every second. My little preemie is now 14 yrs old 6 ft 2 in and 225 lbs. My husband and I never even considered any kind of public assistance (he made $26,000 per year at the time).
Low enough to suck spew from MSNBC.
Sweetie apparently not. If you want to start a thread about me go ahead, this is about Romney the liberal.
Sheeple!
Again your post is about me not Romney, seriously take a break, I know I am special but good grief.
The huge disconnect here is that
stay at home moms, REAL stay at home moms, are supported by a working HUSBAND.
Those who need to experience the “dignity of work” are supported by the government.
It’s pretty demonstrative of the left that they conflate the two. One is virtuous, the other is not. And they conflate them under Romney’s quote in order to discredit him.
You got it right. A mother should certainly be free to stay at home with her children if she can support them financially (or has a husband that will do so). She has no right to expect taxpayers to pick up the bill for her living expenses if she has no income.
Mitt’s family - like almost all families - made sacrifices so that Ann could stay home with the kids. Obama’s family chose a different path because Michelle was the breadwinner. Neither one is wrong.
What would be more interesting would be to explosre the candidates positions on incentivizing people to work. My wife quit her job because it did not pay for her to work thanks to AMT. We actually lost money when she was working and paying for daycare. A system that disincentivizes productive educated adults from working is a system that is doomed to failure, see, e.g. Greece, France, etc.
In other words, you don't want to answer the question. That's an answer in itself. Have a nice day.
You did not ask a question, you made a statement.
yep- more kids shoudl grow up WITHOUT their moms or dads at hoem to guide them- what a brilliant article- kids would be so much better mouthing off to ‘caretakers’ who aren;t related to htem or care one whit about htem than they are havign a lovign mother at home nurturing htem and guiding them i nthe ways of life-
Yet aniother liberal who mocks the proven insitution of family and htinks that a mother working doens’t have any effect on children- CLUELESS
A question mark is at the end of a question. I asked a question. You don't want to answer. That's fine. That's answer enough.
Nope, just using a question mark does not make it a question.
You made a statement telling me what my view is, and added a question mark.
LOL It's okay - you don't have to answer. That tells me all I need to know.
When you ask a question, I will answer it? Just using a question mark, doesn’t make it a question?
LOL It's okay - you don't have to answer. That tells me all I need to know.
