2 robbed LR eatery, 2 helped plan, police say; co-worker shot

LITTLE ROCK — Four restaurant employees face capital murder charges after they were arrested Monday in connection with a robbery the night before of a west Little Rock El Chico in which another employee was shot and killed.

Kiywuan Perry, 23, of Little Rock; his brother Zeckeya Perry, 19, of North Little Rock; Quantez Dobbins, 19, of Little Rock; [and his girlfriend] Kenya Smith, 19, of Little Rock also face charges of aggravated robbery and theft in the holdup of the restaurant on Breckenridge Drive, north of North Rodney Parham Road, shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday.

Jesus Herrera, 39, a server who had worked at the restaurant for more than 12 years, had finished several marathons and had been confirmed as a Catholic earlier this month, was shot in the upper torso during the robbery and was pronounced dead at the scene.

I bet this was a gang initiation vs what people are speculating, "that this was "for" Trayvon". I just can't see these idiots being up on "current events" and simply wanted to "hit a lick" (gang slang for armed robbery).

My Mother and Sister had bullets shot through and into their car while driving through Little Rock by Obama voters. The police acted like they were put out that it was even being reported and since they were from Texas and just passing through. The Police made it very difficult for them and because of the issue, my family left Little Rock as fast as they could. If a person has out of state plates and is traveling through Little Rock, be wary.

It seems that it must be more complex than that, when studies have shown that black males from professional, upperclass, 2 parent homes still have higher crime rates, higher school drop-out rates, and lower SAT scores than their white peers, and even than whites from lower SES backgrounds.
