WASHINGTON (AP) -- First lady Michelle Obama says her "heart goes out to the parents" of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, the unarmed teenager who was fatally shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer in Florida.

Mrs. Obama says in an interview with NPR that all parents understand "the tragedy of that kind of loss."

Should Mrs. O even be commenting on this?

The REAL trial hasn’t even begun.

And Moochell's heart has gone out to how many white families of those killed by blacks?

I'm sure there will be many , now that I have mentioned it.

What about the daily slaughter in Chicago? Any opinion about that piece of it?

Sorry Michelle, it is not tragedy when a neighborhood watch captain or law enforcement officer, like Capt. Zimmerman uses force to stop a thug from committing a crime.

So, did Moochelle say “If Malia had a date, he’d look like Tray-Von”?

Typical Sidwell classmate..

Zimmerman would have to get a change of venue to Australia to get a fair trial.

The Zimmerman/Martin case well has been so thoroughly poisoned by the left wing and its media sycophants that there is no possibility for true justice being meted out. This will not end well.

I agree with her, it is a tragedy, both for Martin’s family and more so for Zimmerman who is begin hung in the press before the trial even gets off the ground. His life is over whether he wins or loses this case. Also, it is a tragedy for the stand your ground law because it will become the target of all the lefties.

Those two never have figured out what being the President/First Lady really means.

They have never comprehended the gravity of the position, the responsibility. Being in that position means that they represent ALL of the people, not just the select few they like.

They have certainly enjoyed the perks of the positions, but they haven't accepted any of the tough parts of the job and they waste everyone's time with intrusion into matters that they should never be involved with.

I am just stunned that we have a president and first lady who feel like they need to talk publicly about events like this.

DO THEY THINK THEY’RE ON JERRY SPRINGER? what the hell is wrong with them?

Its been almost 4 years now and I still keep going back and forth between believing the obamas are stupid or evil. I still can’t figure it out.

Her comments seem very neutral to me.

It is a tragedy, after all, when a teenager dies in an incident that should not have taken place.

Indeed, it is a tragedy that Trayvon grew up in a culture that requires administering a beatdown when someone “disses” you.
