Conservative Choices or Republican Sheep? (Vanity)
Free Republic ^ | April 17, 2012 | DJMacWoW

Posted on 04/17/2012 4:25:42 PM PDT by DJ MacWoW

Conservatives laugh at sheep and useful idiots. We laughed at Democrats when their "Anybody but Bush" got them Kerry. They thought that "Anybody but" works. It doesn't. The electorate needs something to vote FOR and not against. It's called "inspiration" and "something to believe in". Fear is not a belief. It is an unbridled emotion that clouds judgment and has been on full display lately.

Romney is not yet the nominee but some believe it is a done deal. The controllers, the RNC and the MSM, want you to believe that. It flies in the face of everything we know. But fear has gripped the electorate, even on Free Republic, and posters are lashing out at one another rather than considering options.

Newt Gingrich is still in the race. He has not given up on the country that he loves. He is a historian and knows what it took to build this Republic. He is also watching it be destroyed by both parties, Democrats and Republicans. Gingrich fights on but some conservatives have already surrendered.

Mitt Romney will not save the Republic nor reverse it's downfall. And we ARE on the brink of financial destruction. His record is one of parceling off pieces of failed companies, not saving them. He will not save the country.

Some are ready to believe the RNC's fairy tale when you know they are lying. Fight back! Deny Romney the 1144 he needs and stop talking about voting for him. The elites read FR. They know they have conservatives scared and by supporting Romney on FR, you are telling the elites that they have won. The primaries are not over and Romney is not the inevitable winner. Support the last man standing and stop giving encouragement to the enemy of our country.

Please people, think! The RNC reads FR. They cheer everytime they see "ABO" and "I'll vote for Romney". Fight for your country because the lesser of two evils is still evil. Why would any conservative settle for evil?

That cuts to the chase right here and now.

It's an excellent analysis of the situation, both in the nomination process and the tenor here on Free Republic.

I wish more people would get their minds around the situation and unite to give 0dumb0 a viable opponent that the Demwits fear, and not the designated RINO loser, Romney.

“The elites read FR. They know they have conservatives scared and by supporting Romney on FR, you are telling the elites that they have won.”

Let them hear this: Come May 8, I’m voting for Newt, and to define marriage as a man and woman. If the Republican party wants to run a gun-grabbing liberal who enabled gay marriage and Romneycare, then they can make that leftward turn without me.

Hey DJ, didn’t you hear... After we throw away our principles and everything we believe in and show them we’d vote for literally ANYTHING with an “R” by it to elect Romney, we will hold his feet to the fire.

lol.

How would you hold his feet to the fire or push him to the right after you have just proven your going to vote for the nominee no matter what?? What exactly is the threat going to be?

Nothing.

You will have nothing left to threaten the RINO’s with.

To quote myself from yesterday...

See tagline. The "I don't really want to, but I'll have to support Willard" crowd epitomize that statement.

To make it clearer, let me provide the context:

To recoil before an enemy, or to keep silence when from all sides such clamors are raised against truth, is the part of a man either devoid of character or who entertains doubt as to the truth of what he professes to believe. In both cases such mode of behaving is base and is insulting to God, and both are incompatible with the salvation of mankind. This kind of conduct is profitable only to the enemies of the faith, for nothing emboldens the wicked so greatly as the lack of courage on the part of the good. Moreover, want of vigor on the part of Christians is so much the more blameworthy, as not seldom little would be needed on their part to bring to naught false charges and refute erroneous opinions, and by always exerting themselves more strenuously they might reckon upon being successful. After all, no one can be prevented from putting forth that strength of soul which is the characteristic of true Christians, and very frequently by such display of courage our enemies lose heart and their designs are thwarted. Christians are, moreover, born for combat, whereof the greater the vehemence, the more assured, God aiding, the triumph: "Have confidence; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

From a letter by Pope Leo XIII (1890), On Christians as Citizens

To support a pro-abort, homosexualist chameleon solely because he might not be as bad as Øbama is the height of cowardice and displays conduct unworthy of a Christian.

To see where the real Willard Romney stands on abortion, see his pro-life profile from American Right-to-Life

656 delegates out of a required 1,144 doesn't look like a winning score to me, Mitt! Last I checked 57% is a failing grade even by teachers' union standards.

I have decided to write in someone who has more integrity than both nominees. Someone who is less beholden to special interests. Someone who will provide a better example to my kids. Someone who is more in touch with everyday Americans. Someone who I feel would protect gun rights. Someone who will do far less damage to the country. Someone who I have more respect for....

I’m voting for Lil’ Wayne!

I've read those links and more. Some I agree with. Some is a little over the top, in my opinion. I also remember talking to a bunch of purists back in 1979, telling me that Reagan was an unrepentant abortionist and a closet liberal that would sell us out. I also remember the Ross Perot crowd, which included a number of friends that roamed in similar conservative circles as myself, handing Clinton the Presidency. Like I said, I voted my conscious in my State's primary (pulling the lever for Newt), but come the General election, I'm voting for the Republican opposition candidate to Obama. After all, if i don't, Ted Nugent might kill himself or wind up in jail.
