LANSDOWNE, Va., April 18, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Jim Liske, CEO of Prison Fellowship Ministries, gave the following update this morning to the staff and supporters of Prison Fellowship, Justice Fellowship, and the Colson Center for Christian Worldview:
“Dear Friends:
It is with a heavy, but hopeful heart that I share with you that it appears our friend, brother, and founder will soon be home with the Lord. Chuck’s condition took a decided turn yesterday, and the doctors advised Patty and the family to gather by his bedside.

The earth will be losing a multitude of Christians soon enough. I hope you're among us! :)
Prayers for his family as well as the rest of us who will miss his ministry here on Earth. My his passing be peaceful as he joins our Lord at Home.
Prayers on the way up
This man’s life has meant so much to so many. He was stricken while at the lecturn... he went down with his guns blazing. An example for us all. May God continue to use his life as a benefit to others. A true giant in God’s kingdom.
So sad. I’ve enjoyed many of his books.
May God comfort his family.

Chuck Colson is a great man.
Long ago he settled the question of who his Master was.
His Master compelled him to remember those in prison, and he did so, helping untold thousands of prisoners, their wives, and their children.
His Master will be promoting him to Heaven soon.
His Master gave him forgiveness and a new direction in life. This direction helped many to see the Master in a real and personal way.
Thank you, Jesus, for saving Chuck Colson. We know that “Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his saints. “
We ask that you comfort his wife and children and all who You allowed to be touched by this man. Give them strength from You, in a supernatural way, to face the days ahead without him.
Thank you for the promise of reunion after death, because You defeated death and Hell for us. Praise be to Your name, forever and ever.

I so hate hearing this. The sad thing is it sounded like he was making good progress after the surgery; even talking. I wonder what happened?

Wow, this is sad news indeed. I pray for Chuck and his family.
I’ve always respected Colson for his active repentance for the things he did under Nixon and for his ministry that resulted.
A good man. May the Lord’s peace be upon him and his family.

the stuff that they get away with now would make Coulson worthy of promotion these days
His promotion is very close. The evil ones got their promotion here which last for just a moment, his is forever.
Chuck Colson was very instrumental in my own spiritual awaking about 12 years ago. I stopped listening to sports radio shows and tuned into WYLL. I HAD to listen to his 2 minute Breakpoint spot every morning just before 7am.
Always provocative, concise & right on target for God’s Truth. WYLL stopped carrying his Breakpoint broadcasts & I fell out of the habit of listening to him but I still love reading his books.
Truly a giant in Christian leadership!

Dr. Thorne, I believe you are correct that we are the generation that will witness the return of Christ.
The man who boasted he would “walk over my own grandmother” to get Nixon reelected. Seems like he reformed after his prison term and went on to be a good citizen, but we should remember the bad along with the good.
Do we have to remember the bad right now?

So much heartache for such a good man.
If you're a Christian, does God? Does HE "remember" your evil? If you're one of his... NO! So why should we make a "special effort" remember what this man did? You want to throw rocks at folks, look in the mirror first. This man was one of the people most directly responsible for bringing ME to Jesus Christ after I read his first book. I'll always be grateful for that.
Prayers for the Colson family as they face this change in their lives. May the Lord, himself, walk with them.
let there be Peace, and comfort for those he leaves behind for one day they will join him as we ALL will.
My prayer is that as he walks the lonely walk alone, through the Valley of Death, peace will be granted to him.
