Memory eternal.
He is a real loss to us all.
I’m sorry to hear that. May his soul be with the Lord, and prayers for those loved ones left behind.
May he rest in eternal peace
RIP
A great man.
Rest in Peace Chuck, you will be remembered for your ministry later in life.
Rest in Peace Chuck, you will be remembered for your ministry later in life.
This comes as very sad news to all of us who were touched by Mr. Colson’s work. I have been a supporter of his Prison Fellowship ministry for years now. May God Bless him and his family.
RIP Chuck

The MSM get another chance to remind people of the Watergate incident and blame it on all Republicans.
Charles W. Colson, Watergate Felon Reborn as Evangelical Leader, Dies at 80.
Which makes me wonder, how often is John Dean listed as "John Dean, Watergate Felon, [does this/does that]"?
Sad news.
Fox News had a very similar headline. I was disappointed.
Colson was such a visible presence for the concept of redemption. May his soul find eternal peace.
Yes, it is a loss. May he rest in peace.

They don’t come much lower than John Dean. He’s repulsive.
A great man, and invaluable in the cause of getting Protestants and Catholics working together for the common good. He will be greatly missed. God bless.
We have probably all seen the horrible things they said about Whittaker Chambers. He became a Quaker (although he spent a lot of time as a volunteer at various Catholic monasteries) but once he abandoned the left, they flew around like enraged wasps.
If the left can say anything negative about somebody who is a believer, they will. And of course the press will publish it.
RIP.
RIP. Happy reunion with The Church.
He also did great things for the Catholic/Evangelical relationship. I’m Catholic, and I loved reading everything he wrote. He was orthodox all the way (and I think “big O” Orthodox liked him also).
RIP.
True to form, the AOL home page headline is “Watergate Figure, ‘Evil Genuis’ Dead at 80.”
RIP to a great Christian man.
Prayers for God's comfort and peace for his family and loved ones.
Amen!
I’ve listened to many of Breakpoint broadcasts, and read a couple of good books from him, including “The Good Life”, which I recommend to anyone. A real warrior with a strong Christian voice and intellect.
Rest in Peace,
— Joe

Lord Jesus, rest Thy servant Charles with the saints.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
Amen to that lovely prayer.
“He also did great things for the Catholic/Evangelical relationship. Im Catholic, and I loved reading everything he wrote. He was orthodox all the way (and I think big O Orthodox liked him also).”
AMEN!!!
One of the greatest witnesses regarding Christ’s redemption message.
His life is a testimony to God’s redemption. It may be an urban legend but I read once that G Gordon Liddy said upon hearing that Chuck Colson had become a christian that Colson “would run over his gramma for Nixon I can only imagine what he’ll do for Jesus Christ”. I read that last week was the first time in a long time he spent Easter Sunday somewhere else other than prison. He usually worked with a prison fellowship group every Easter for many years. I recall seeing him on Crossfire in the early 80’s whern they had Pat Buchanan andTom Bradon was the liberal. Bradon was skeptical of Colson christian conversion but after that show was convinced his faith was real. Colson’s life is a testimony to God’s grace.
| Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17) |
May his family be comforted knowing how many lives he touched and changed for the better. What a great example he set in life. RIP, Chuck.
May he rest in peace. He was a man who truly devoted his life to doing God’s work on Earth.
Yes, indeed. And much needed in this messed up, leftist world.
He will be sorely missed!
RIP Chuck
Our Lord forgives and makes us whole again..
Eternal Peace, you have earned it..
RIP Chuck You were an ok guy!
Mr. Colson was a true servant of the living God. He lived out his faith day in and day out. Many were blessed by his genuine touch and his writings.
My only regret was to read the comment section at the end of the CBS story. How awful most of those people were and it only reinforces the scriptural teaching of faith being foolishness to the unbeliever. These people that posted are vile and wicked in desperate need of a relationship with Christ. I’m sure if Mr. Colson would have met any of them on the street or in need, he would have given them a big hug and told them he loved them and so does God. That’s the kind of guy we lost and heaven gained.
I am certain Mr. Colson has now heard the words of his Savior, “Well done thou good and faithful servant”.
Perfectly stated. I met Chuck Colson years ago at a dinner for my daughter's school, and felt privileged to be in his presence. What always struck me was his love for "the least of these" - people who could never do anything for him. His servant's heart is reflected in one of Prison Fellowship Ministries' least known charities: cleaning up and restoring crime scenes in private homes.
I thank God for the redeemed life of Chuck Colson, and I look forward to seeing him again.
He has met Jesus face to face!!! Imagine that....
RIP, Mr. Colson. I had the pleasure of meeting him briefly at one of R.C. Sproul’s Ligonier conferences many years ago.
His Christian radio spots were amazing. Heaven’s gain is our loss.
Chuck Colson became a wonderful Christian. His perspective was generally a wonderful insight amidst a bunch of opinions.
RIP, Brother Colson.
