The Rio+20 conference on unsustainable deterioration sustainable development will be held in Rio in June and U.N Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has urgently asked President Obama to go. It will be Earth Day writ large and much more can be done there to for the environment and to spread global welfare while pushing for more global economic deterioration.

There is so much that President Obama can do to enhance his reelection prospects that he must accept the Secretary General's well meaning request and go.

Earth day...what a joke.

Does the Earth really need a day? What is a day anyway? It is one revolution of *THE EARTH*! So we are choosing one of those 365 revolutions and saying “this revolution is for the Earth”. Ya know what...maybe they *ALL* belong to the Earth since the Earth causes them in the first place. This is starting to sound like a Jerry Seinfeld routine so I guess I’ll stop ranting now.

So do you think you'll ever post anything from a source other than your own?

Or are you just here as part of a business model, sucking away Free Republic's traffic?

Surely you would feel bad about being such a scumsucking parasite.

Wouldn't you?

It bear reminding that Earth Day and the EPA emerged under the Nixon administration. A cautionary tale against electing moderate Republicans.

As a celebration of Earth Day, I personally recommend burning some old tires or high sulfur content coal.

Here's your perspective for "Earth Day(TM)":

Gaea worship is a form of idolatry .

If it wasn’t chosen because it was Lenin’s birthday then why was that particular day chosen?
