'Tea party' pols sell out the tea party - Names who endorsed Romney after taking cash from his PACs
World Net Daily ^ | 02/06/2012 at 8:17 PM | Steve Baldwin

In March of 2011, former Rep. John Leboutiller predicted in a News Max article that, “the tea party will select the 2012 GOP nominee.”

At the time, it was a safe prediction given the strength of the tea-party movement in the 2010 elections and the influence it was expected to have on the GOP presidential primaries just over a year later. But something went terribly wrong in the meantime. Many politicians heavily supported by the tea-party movement seem to have switched sides, pursuing their own agenda at the expense of the conservative movement and the tea party.

Take Christine O’Donnell, for example. O’Donnell lost her bid for the U.S. Senate in Delaware but continues to have a following among tea-party activists. Inexplicably, she recently endorsed Romney, stating she is doing so because she thinks “infrastructure and executive experience are important.” She also claimed, “He’s been consistent since he changed his mind.”

One wonders if the $5,000 O’Donnell received in 2010 from Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC had any influence on her decision.

Similarly, the tea-party movement was heavily involved in the election of South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, but she endorsed Romney last month, claiming in her endorsement remarks, “He knows how to create jobs and turn the economy.” Haley also received some big bucks from Romney; to be precise, she took $36,000 from Romney’s various PACs over the last few years, more than any other gubernatorial candidate.

Then there’s Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, a long-time favorite of tea-party activists. Chaffetz is actually a member of the Romney “Truth Squad” that goes around harassing Newt Gingrich everywhere he speaks. Chaffetz claims Romney is a fiscal conservative and that due to his budget cuts in Massachusetts, tea partiers “love” him. But Chaffetz also loves Romney’s money since he received almost

How do you know Romney will roll back anything BHO has done? He has at least five positions on any given issue.
Sorry, I beleive that social issues are important.
Romney promoted cheap and free abortions, homosexual agendas, gun grabs, big government, mandates.......
I don’t see that Romney is better than BHO.

Not much chance of SoConPubbie doing that. He has never criticized any democrat and it is unlikely he is going to criticize his boss (Obama). If he did, his buddies at democraticunderground and Dkos would likely drum him out of their club.

That post is totally unworthy of FR. A prime example of where Romney Republicanism leads.

"I think it is time for you to get over it and start focusing on the real enemy which is Obama."

BINGO! Maybe we should stay focused on the task at hand.

BTW - is this conclusive that the Tea Party supporters mentioned are dropping their values, or might they be moving Romney further right in his thinking?

I think it is time for you to get over it and start focusing on the real enemy which is Obama.

We will still have those that never learn. Romney must kick the dictator King Obama out or America is really finished. Some idiots never learn that sometimes we have to pick the lesser of two evils or we go in the trash. To act like a child is foolish. We must get behind the R no matter who he is. Newt was the only real chance and we lost him.

Yeah...you need to get over your positions on killing babies, socialized healthcare, tyrannical government mandates, and gun control....and support Romney. /sarcasm

He ISN’t “My Boy”. I said at the start of this thing I would support Mickey Mouse against Obama. Romney wasn’t one of my choices, but he is what we got. Wheteher or not he is better than Mickey Mouse, I don’t care. I fear for the future of this Nation under Obama and am willing to work hard to get rid of him. The only remaining alternative is Romney. Not voting for him is a vote for Obama. Hopefully, we can have a Senate and a House next year that will support a conservative agenda.

Social issues are important, but wont play a role in THIS election. “It’s all about the economy and we are NOT stupid”.

Yeah...you must get behind the R candidate regardless of their positions on the issues. Who cares what they believe in? That stuff doesn’t matter anymore. We need more mindless, soulless supporters. /sarcasm

I wish the cold case posse would have enough on Obama to open an investigation or empanel a grand jury and find him ineligible in Nov. Then a third party would have a chance.

A full length feature film of it’s findings by some indy producer would be a plus. Or at least a CD version, available for purchase and to share.

Its pretty obvious that the GOP is dying because so few voters have any integrity these days.

You are supporting him on a site devoted to conservative principles whose owner has said there will be no promoting of Romney.

You are badgering others to vote for Romney.

That makes him your boy. You own him and his record.

Wow, another Romney supporting lying about a conservative.

I guess we can't expect much more from Romney supporters since their guy does this all the time, like lying about Newt, lying about Cain, lying about Santorum, and constantly lying and covering up his own record.

I guess the nuts really don't fall too far from the tree, do they.

More so.

Since it is their enablement of the GOP-E and their usage of propaganda and lies covering for a lying, left-wing, Progressive Liberal that allowed Romney to win and if he becomes President, destroy the GOP as a home for conservatives.

They are actually hastening the destruction of the GOP.

Romney -- The ineligible author of ObamaCARE
and WORST GOVERNOR IN HISTORY.

Here are the facts from CATO.

MITT ROMNEY - THE PROVEN BAD GOVERNOR

"As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal."
