Texas executed a man on Thursday for killing a convenience store worker and wounding two female employees after a 2002 robbery, state officials said.
Beunka Adams was the fifth person executed in Texas this year and the 17th person put to death in the United States in 2012.
Prosecutors said the murder happened after Adams and another man robbed the store in the small east Texas town of Rusk in September 2002.
Adams herded two female employees, Candace Driver and Nikki Dement, along with Kenneth Vandever, who was described as having mental disabilities and who did odd jobs around the convenience store, into Driver's car, according to court documents.

Definitely looks like another one of those sons of Zero, if he had any.
Good riddance to him.

This hits close to home. We lived a short distance from there and heard much about this from those close to the crime. This was an utterly heinous crime. The article doesn’t discuss the other killer. Do we know what became of him?

His accomplice, Richard Cobb, is up for the same treatment real soon:
Obama: "If I had a son nephew*, he'd look like Trayvon Richard."
* On his mom's side.

A walk down memory lane:
On September 2, 2002, in Cherokee County, Texas, Adams and co-defendant Richard Cobb (also sentenced to death in 2004) robbed a convenience store, and then forced two store clerks, Nikki Ansley Dement and Candace Driver, and a customer, Kenneth Vandever, into their car. After kidnapping the victims and sexually assaulting Dement, Cobb and Adams shot each of them. Vandever died of his injuries, while Dement and Driver survived.
With any luck Adams’s accomplice, Cobb, will be paying for his murderous acts soon enough. The man’s even got this nifty web page up:

You just have to love how the Great State of Texas, gets some
TEX-as!
I'm all for "better representation" during a Capital Murder Trial, but even with a "Dream Team of Lawyer's / Attorney's" this piece of pond scum, still would've received an arm full of his favorite juice.
Can't wait to hear about his co-conspirator receiving him arm full of juice.

I don’t know about January. Certainly 10 years is too long, although many of these cases have drawn out much longer.
But there should be some amount of time for appeals in a death penalty case, don’t you think?

Too bad we can't have a headline like Texas executes man for January murder! I miss Roy Bean. The perpetrators of the "Double Indemnity" murder in New York were executed within in year of the crime. Times change.
