Here comes the agitprop. How many came from the U.S. gov't? They're still mum about Fast and Furious.

How many guns were not submitted to the ATF because the Mexican government knew they were either locally-sourced or from South America?

I have an idea, let’s just keep Mexicans from crossing the border into our country illegally.

I'll bet the match is over 70% (my gut says 90%). Reason is that weapons from the US would be so expensive as to be uncompetitive on the black market.

Wouldn't you just love to have the ATF F&F serial number file to compare with those from recovered weapons in Mexico? Frankly, it's amazing they've been able to keep the wraps on that data for so long.

The agency added that reports from officials in Mexico show “certain types of rifles, such as the AK and AR variants with detachable magazines, are used more frequently to commit violent crime by drug trafficking organizations.”

Oh, gee, I guess that we need to ban them.

/s

BTW, they forgot to call them "high powered assault weapons". Must be getting careless.

Fats and Furious has pretty much destroyed the gun grabber’s lies about US guns in Mexico.

The ATF said it was able to trace back 68,000 of more than 99,000 guns that were submitted by Mexican authorities.

At least 47,000 people have been killed in the conflict since President Felipe Calderon directed the army to act against cartels in 2006.

Geez, that's about the same numbers the Brady bunch screams will happen every time there's a pro-gun law passed in the US.

Hopefully, this will inspire the Obama Administration to cease future gun shipments to the cartels.

How many of these ‘American weapons’ are U.S. military arms provided to the Mexican armed forces as part of our multi-billion dollar military assistance programs?

And Fast and Furious will forever be hidden away.....unless some one high up gets indicted and has to submit sworn testimony before a judge. Not a congressional committee, a judge.

trace data shows a trend in recovered and submitted crime guns

If my memory serves me, the last time this came up it was reported that the guns found in Mexico were first screened by Mexican authorities and those thought to be American were segregated and submitted to the US for analysis. Much to the Justice dept's suprise, most of the "submitted" guns were in fact of American origin. Looks to be the same BS here again.

Isn't there a saying that "insanity is trying the same thing over and over again expecting a different result?"

68,000 pounds of cocaine recovered in U.S. traced to Mexico (and that’s not even a full year).

I an certain that every Colt, S&W, Ruger, Remington, Bushmaster and a host if others found in Mexico can be traced to the USA.

They’re made here!

I’m sure all of the Mercedes and BMWs the cartels drive down there can be traced to Germany. The issue is not “U.S.-sourced”, it’s “U.S. Government-sourced”.
