Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announces two 14-year-old girls pled guilty in Family Court Thursday to Sunday's carjacking at Ashley and Mingo Streets.
Ravenell explains "The 21-year-old victim was giving the two girls, she did not know, a ride on Sunday evening because it was raining. After stopping at a house, one of the suspects got out of the vehicle to knock on the door. When that suspect returned, she pulled the victim out of the vehicle, threw her on the ground and kneed her in the head. The suspect got into the victim's vehicle and drove off. Officers located the stolen vehicle on Tuesday near the intersection of Bramble Lane and Bonneville Drive in a wooded area. The suspects have been detained since Tuesday at the Department of Juvenile Justice on charges of carjacking, assault and battery - third degree, and driving without a license. "
Ravenell concludes "This is a very serious and alarming case. Seldom do we investigate cases where young females are responsible for such violent acts. Young people need to know that there are serious consequences for committing crimes.

Good way to get shot.
Of course this isn’t a hate crime.
Ashley & Mingo is a really seedy area. I wouldn’t go there at any time of day.
Paging John Derbyshire, paging John Derbyshire....
I like my county’s statistics better:
White 96%
Black 1%
Hispanic/other 3%.....
You don’t see any car jackings here.
I’m going to go out on a limb here. Let me guess, more Holder’s people at work.....
When the race is not mentioned, there is virtually no other conclusion that one can come to.
SC is a great state to visit however stay away from Orangeburg which is 30 mies south of Columbia off of I-26.
Given that Orangeburg is about 2/3 black, there’s a pretty good chance of Holder’s People on both sides of the equation.
More than likely, these girls were just trying to get early acceptance at South Carolina State for criminal justice degrees...
