I think the comparison between Romney and Nixon is accurate. I’ve been thinking the same lately.

Even in Mitt’s sordid history, I don’t recall him ever refusing to honor the wishes of the legislature, if only as filtered through the courts (which is what happened in Massachusetts in the “gay marriage” scandal — when, granted, Mitt should have waited for the court order to address him). Do you? That alone would make Mitt much less dangerous than Barack with all his Congress-skirting EOs. The ball would be back in Congress’ (and the USSC’s) hands.
Yep, that is my point, and if he wins with Social Conservatives publicly sitting it out, it will marginalize Socons for a generation. All of the work that Reagan put in will be washed away. I not old enough to remember the 1968 primaries, but Reagan won the pop vote and got stabbed in the back by the Gop at the convention. He didn’t take his ball and go home, instead he continued to fight within the party to take it where he wanted it. That is our only option now, we should learn my history, not ignore it.
