Michael Bascum Selsor, 57, had already uttered his last words to his son and his sister at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. It was the end of more than three decades of legal proceedings, in which Selsor was twice convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to die for the Sept. 15, 1975, shooting death of Clayton Chandler.

I drove by McAlester so many times on my way to Dallas, San Antonio or Austin.

That place always looked scary to me.

Probably less so after tonight.

I always thought the Oklahoma State Penitentiary looked like a prison was supposed to look.

I drive through there every time I go to Fort Smith. If it took them 37 years to kill this POS. It should take them century’s to pop me for speeding.

Considering that he was convicted in the 70’s, it’s a miracle that he drank the cocktail at all. But yes, 37 years is ridiculous.

The article said the convict got a lethal three-drug mixture but the headline said he was shot.

Damn editors need to go back to school. How about "Oklahoma death row inmate executed for murder", or would that be to prejudicial?

I wouldn’t be sure of that - the state gets a lot more revenue from speeding tickets than executions.

I was joking. Actually I like McAllester. I always make a pit stop there on the way back to Dallas. That prison North of Atoka gives me the creeps, I honk and wave when I pass by.

Look guys. We're human. As such, we are known to make mistakes. I, for one, don't want to be falsely accused, mistakenly convicted, and wrongfully executed. So I want a capital convict to get every chance to PROVE his or her innocence.

That said,...37 FREAKING YEARS!!!???

Crime doesn't pay. Traffic violators do.
