New Haven prides itself as being a ‘sanctuary’ city. The New Haven Register refers to illegals as immigrants. Compound that with the pre-existing black crime problem and you have a city that has lost its way ... not anyplace you would want to live.

I was going to ask where the SOB or Son Of Obama picture was until I saw you were already ahead of the game.

New Haven, long a troubled city with dependably liberal mayors, managed to push out the middle class a long time ago. The political climate is quasi-communist and the crime problem is huge. FBI statistics show New Havens violent crime rate 256% higher than the national average. Tough town.

First, the good pizza places in New Haven don’t deliver, period. Sally’s Apizza is worth a pilgrimage.

Don't forget Pepe's!

Stay on Wooster Street!

Dixwell Avenue in New Haven is a place that you generally do not want to stop on at night, and you certainly don’t want to turn right or left off of. I used to live just North of Newhallville ((shudder)).

My Grampa lived on Dixwell Ave, north end in Hamden. As soon as you crossed the city border between Hamden and New Haven, you could see the difference. I'm talking the late 60's and early 70's.

Haven't been back for over 22 years.

In my “dumber days” I would frequently take walks from my apartment closer to downtown up Whalley Ave. to visit my girlfriend who was at that time a student at SCSU.

I can't claim credit for creating it, but I pass it around when appropriate.
