BREAKING: Gowdy follows through on threat to cut DoJ funding, but…

Following through on a threat made to this column and to Fox News, South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy on Tuesday introduced an amendment — passed by voice vote in the House of Representatives — cutting $1 million from the Justice Department’s appropriation for FY 2013.

Gowdy told this column that he would pursue that avenue because of Attorney General Eric Holder’s continual stalling and failures to provide tens of thousands of document pages requested and subpoenaed by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, of which Gowdy is a member.

In his freshman term, Gowdy — a former federal prosecutor — told the Gun Rights Examiner bluntly that one way or the other, Holder will comply with the subpoenas by the Memorial Day weekend. The clock is ticking and Gowdy has just demonstrated that he was not bluffing.

Maybe President Obama will threaten to veto this bill unless the cut is taken out.

Indeed. Is this just a symbolic cut or will $1M make a difference? I’m betting on the former. Hey, Congressman Goudy, if you REALLY want to make a statement, zero out the White House travel budget!!!

A 75% cut in the budget for the “Just-Us” Dept would be a good start.

I would like to have seen Holder's and Obama’s face when they found this out. Yes, $1M is chump change to them but how dare anyone challenge them.

What an embarrassment to them (esp with such a small dollar amount which kind of makes it symbolic to Holder and Obama) and I bet they are mad for having one more, albeit small, bitch slap.

This is the very first real knock on the door for the DOJ, Eric Holder, and his white swat team.

All else, until Trey Gowdy, from the Republicans, has been barrels of rhetoric and harrumphing. This first step taken has been executed right on time for the election.

Trey Gowdy for President! I love this guy. He is brutal when it comes to translating the law and the Constitution to the bad guys.

There are reams of film of this Trey Gowdy guy leading these various committee hearings, where he is seen and heard handing heads out to the Marxist witnesses.

Their own.

Just sent this to Rance and the boys (via email so as to save them the postage -- SINCE THE COUNTRY'S BROKE!).

Most of you who have ever voted Pubby probably get these things. I hope to God you don't actually send these elitist clowns any $$$. Better to give it directly to YOUR local guy and work in his campaign if he's an improvement over the incumbent. Sending it to the NRC is right up there with sending it to the DNC, Move-On.org or ACORN.

Might I suggest that you send your next "Survey" form back in similar fashion? Perhaps if the "money" dries up and they get a few million of these, they just might get the picture -- but don't hold your breath.

They don't send me surveys anymore, maybe because I fill them out like that, so I have to take the initiative and send them my thoughts unsolicited...

December 8, 2011
Dear Representative Gardner:
Dear Senator Udall:
Dear Senator Bennet:

Let's call Fast and Furious, Castaway, "Grenade Walker" and "Cash Walker" what they are. State-sponsored terrorism.

On this side of the border they are violations of the RICO Act. In Mexico and Honduras it is state-sponsored terrorism.

What else would you call heavily arming international criminal syndicates within foreign countries wherein those countries are in a death struggle with those syndicates?

Especially when it goes beyond thousands of assault rifles to include grenades, RPGs, shoulder fired rockets, anti-aircraft guns, night vision equipment, body armor and special deals to bring their drugs onto our soil with legal impunity?

Not to mention the just-revealed news that the rip crew that killed BP Agent Brian Terry was there with DEA and FBI assistance and approval to attack and kill a rival cartel's smuggling crew.

Let's not leave out the FBI and DEA laundering millions of dollars for the drug cartels by setting up bank accounts for them that they otherwise couldn't do.

It is organized, it is spread throughout every Federal LEA and it violates numerous domestic laws and numerous statutes and treaties that deal with foreign nations. Yet none of it has been officially sanctioned by Congress. (that I know of) It is the Federal government acting like mafioso.

Pres. Obama, AG Eric Holder and Sec. State Hillary Clinton are all deeply involved in this and it is unquestionably state-sponsored terrorism by the definition used to define states like Iran and North Korea.

PS: if you think I am wrong or exaggerating any of this I will be glad to bring you up to speed with very well sourced articles, legal depositions (publically available) and other public information that verifies every word I have said.

Either you are with these criminals or you are with U.S. I implore you to get informed, get involved and act or get run over by this. This lawless scandal is not going away.

Sincerely,

Mr. (TigersEye)

Here is a petition to call for Eric Holder's prosecution.
Tea Party Petition to Prosecute Eric Holder

After signing the petition you will get an automatic way to send an e-mail to your Congressman and Senators. You can use their text or fill in your own.

I strongly encourage all FReepers to sign that petition and to send their own thoughts about this to their Congress critters. Let them know that you are aware of this issue and that you are not going to forget about it. Let them know you will be watching to see what they do about it.
