So. Our border patrol is comprised of thugs! These uniformed agents have become yet another enemy of decent, law-abiding Americans. This case should be thoroughly investigated and those that played a hand in this disgrace must be fired!

Where would the early church have been if they had put their faith in Rome?

We are past political solutions. My solution was to move from my 45 year home, Seattle, to a small farm in central KY.

It’s all about Revelation 18:4

Mr. Jensen is sounding the alarm based on harsh reality. Will America listen? I'm afraid that I'm not optimistic. Collective complacency and manufactured distractions along with incessant and effective media propaganda will eventually cost us our freedom. Yet, it doesn't have to be this way unless we allow it to happen.

So, our protectors are now our emeny? You want to live with open borders? Try this: Take the doors off of your house. Advertise on your local TV that you have done that. Think you are going to sleep well?

Not to be cynical, but if he gives the authorities too much trouble, next time he crosses the border contraband or drugs will be found and he will spend five years in a jail cell to correct his attitude. To echo what has already been said in this article and elsewhere on FR, if we don't get Obama out in November, there will be no additional chance and the behavior detailed in the article will be mild to what will come next.

This guy isn’t complaingin about closed borders. What he is complaining about is the abuse of power. He even states that the questioning in the past was a minor inconvenience. The description of what he went through should send chills down your spine.

Romney wants open borders and amnesty I think. Forget what he says, look at his actions.

We need to elect conservatives to the House and to the woeful Senate.

Despite your username there is apparently a lot you don’t ‘get’ about both patriotism and what the USA is all about.

Oh jeez.......... this guy should just stop crying... would you rather the border patrol just flagged everyone on through? I did a lot of traveling between canada and the U.S., spending extended time working in canada. If your number pops up, you get the special treatment. Damn near everyone that goes over the border will get this at one time or another.

Now, take into account where he has been and, by his own admission, who he was with in these questionable countries, and you are gonna get detained.

Messing with me while I am in my own country is one thing (tsa is the gestapo) but when you are coming in, you are subject to search. If you are on a list, you are gonna get extra searched. It is just the way it is. Stop whining.

A few sentences stand out:

“Now, I am a regular traveler with a passport that reads of trips to Africa and the Middle East. I have worked on several projects in pretty controversial areas, and with sometimes very controversial people.”

So this guy could be rubbing elbows with, or even “providing aid and comfort” to America’s enemies and you don’t think he warrants extra scrutiny?

First question that comes to mind:
Why did you let them do it?

Why did you feed and embolden the beasts?

And if you knew beforehand that you were likely to get the extra attention, why did you take your computer along? How hard can it be to get a spare laptop, or to rent one for the trip and just carry those few files you will need?

It’s like traveling with a sack of diamonds: you shouldn’t!

This is not a free country anymore.

Nor is anyone angry enough to try to restore it. Actions speak louder, and all the actions I see are submissive. (BTW — “Vote for Romney!”)

A very few — and not enough — people are passively resisting, for example by avoiding air travel and border crossing. Most won’t even go that far.

Most are sheep. Public schooled, tax-paying, TSA-inspected mutton.

I agree. There are pleanty of things to do for the good of humanity here in our own country. We used to go fishing up north during the 70’s. Never go again.

This is about our rights as US citizens not about open borders. Read the Constitution. Just because DHS decides to put you on a list doens’t mean you lose your constitutional rights.

"As a founder, I set out to create an environment where we could fight for freedom, fight for better moral and ethical direction, but even more importantly fight to hold those in positions of trust and power accountable. Every day, we research, draft and develop new ways to fight against the bureaucratic nightmare that we face as a nation..."

Yeah. Fight fight fight fight.

Baaaa baaaa baaaa baaaa.

There's no fight in this story, just the usual bend over and bleat about it afterwards.

This time, though… this time it was very different. This time, they searched the car we were riding in three times. They interrogated me four times. They took my wallet, and made copies (in plain sight) of every credit card in my wallet. They took my computer, and made copies of the contents of my entire hard drive, including intimate letters between me and my wife, emails, pictures, and other writings and documents. They went through my cell phone, and disappeared into a “lab” in the back after asking me if it was password protected. They gawked over the three of us (my in-laws as well) as they all poured into the “lab”. Several of them pointed at us over and over again as other agents (12 or so in total) came in to watch as they interrogate their suspect.

When you come back into the United States with a United States Passport, you are an American citizen on American soil. I'm not sure how we American citizens ever gave up our rights under the fourth amendment

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
... under such circumstances but I guess we did. But we only did as I understand it to make sure that proper duties were being paid on any goods we might be importing. Looking at files on ones computer and making copies of credit cards has nothing to do with Customs.

If this story is true, it is an outrage.
