Rep. James Clyburn, the House Democrat's third-ranking leader, said on MSNBC's Daily Rundown Monday that the question of legal recognition of marriage between same-sex couples should not be left to state laws, but instead ought to be decided at the national level, a position that puts him at odds with President Barack Obama.
Clyburn told NBC's Chuck Todd, "If we consider this to be a civil right, and I do, I don't think civil rights ought to be left up to a state-by-state approach. I think we should have a national policy on this."

he believed he had no choice but to direct clerks and others to change state marriage forms and begin registering same-sex couples. Some opponents contend that with those actions, Romney did no more or less than create the first homosexual marriages recognized in the nation.
He has no fight in him to do the right thing FOR America - just fight like the devil and lie his way through to gain power now. HOMO ROMO is a NOGO.
His family is the least of his problems. He faces a greater wrath and he can’t say he didn’t know but just turned from it.
Clyburn voted for DOMA.
He’s changed his mind and wants a national policy legalizing same sex marriage.
He’s evolved.
Clyburn, the same guy also recently said the dems should run on the greatness of Obamacare this year.
I wonder how well that little comment of use about DOMA will play back home...

All I did was say the opposite of the old line...he made his parents proud.
Because he did the opposite.
I’ll leave it to you to call down the ultimate judgement.
My point was different, but related.
Society, of which the building block is the family, used to matter. Disapproval of your family and the place you came from, used to matter a lot. It was devastating to go against that.
Now, far too many loudly trumpet their depradations against traditional values of right and wrong.
In the former social order, they would be condemned and shunned by other people in their sphere.
I guess Clyburn didn’t get the memo. The President is a “states rights” Federalist on this issue now.
What district does Clyburn represent? I ask because it is begin reported that on hip hop radio the calls are mostly anti Obama on the gay marriage issue so any black politician could be endangering his own relation by hooking his horse to that wagon?

I'm not calling it down - he is on his own accord. That how it works - each is responsible for their own outcome, there is no guess work but there certainly is deception to cloud the mind for evil to scoop up the deceived to it's side. And he's responsible for that!
Why wait ‘til all the facts are in from the several states in which it’s legal. Let’s force the red states to secede from the Union while it’s a hot button issue. Then O can really be like Abe Lincoln.
Whenever I start to think about Mitt Romney’s failings, I can remember these “gay marriage” statements from Obama and Clyburn and Mitt starts to look like George Washington.
Clyburn has one of those SC sinecures from which he can never be disloged until death. People in SC are fully predictable on that.
Who else here thought that this was about Van Clyburn?
