President Barack Obama’s supporters are raising a claim of racism to quash a proposed $10 million ad-campaign that highlights the president’s personal ties to his one-time spiritual mentor Jeremiah Wright.
The pushback helps the campaign minimize Obama’s association with the controversial pastor, but it also keeps the public’s focus away from the stalled economy’s high unemployment, deficit and debt.
The information campaign must be rejected by an act of “moral leadership,” the campaign claimed in a 1:35 p.m. tweet from Obama’s official Twitter account.
Campaign manager Jim Messina also hinted that the proposed ad campaign — outlined today by the New York Times — was motivated by racism.
“The blueprint for a hate-filled, divisive campaign of character assassination speaks for itself,” Messina said in a press release. “Governor Romney has fallen short of the standard that John McCain set, reacting tepidly in a moment that required moral leadership in standing up to the very extreme wing of his own party.”

All it takes is to confront the Obama strategy - that he is using race, women, economic class warfare - to divide the country and to distract from his obvious failures.
You don’t take the bait, you throw it back in his face and tell people about the rod and reel he is playing with.
Talking about the racist church Obama attended is an open invitation for the liberals to bring up the racist church Romney has been a member of all his life.

It continues to stun me that in a nation of over 300 million people this guy was the best the voters thought they could come up with for the top job.

My dc comment: Exactly. It’s not racist, it’s Wright’s OWN WORDS. This was O’s preacher for 20 years. An intimate friendship. McCain style Mr. Nice Guy campaigners get snowed by the vicious undercutting Obama.
Get ugly, be vicious like O is. Don’t bring a limp-wristed pansy to a knife fight. You got to be ugly to show ugly. People don’t want a goody two-shoes Republican that finishes last. America is tired of that. Get ugly Romney. Forget the pretense. Get that out of the way, then you can win.
