Marshall [R-Va] says 'sodomy is not a civil right'

RICHMOND Va. --

In a testy interview today with CNN's Brooke Baldwin on the Virginia legislature's recent refusal to appoint openly gay Richmond prosecutor Tracy Thorne-Begland to a judgeship, Del. Robert G. Marshall, R-Prince William, declared that "sodomy is not a civil right." .
.
Marshall, a U.S. Senate candidate and one of the General Assembly's most conservative members, denied that he had lobbied against Thorne-Begland because he is gay, but instead termed him an "activist."
.
.
"He can be a prosecutor if he wants to," Marshall said, "but we don't want advocates as judges."
.
.
Marshall rejected Baldwin's comparison of the issue to civil rights and women's suffrage, remarking: "Sodomy is not a civil right. It's not the same as the civil rights movement."

SCORE for the good guys! Keep speaking the truth Bob, we got your back!

Homosexual activist Prosecutor (denied judgeship),
with "partner" and "their twins" - ugh, poor kids.

Commonwealth's Attorney Mike Herring, who commented
yesterday after the vote that, "“It is hard to think
about what happened at the General Assembly and not
conclude that it is a form of bigotry,” said Herring
during a Tuesday morning news conference. “Anytime
my elected officials exercise in behavior that is
bigoted, it embarrasses me.”

We’ll see how long he can avoid being forced to apologize.

Dang, the cold truth is like a hard slap in the face to pc cultists.

This will not sit well with them.

Wouldn't hold your breath for that. Bob is not likely to walk that back, he's pretty outspoken.

Should this guy be a judge too?

(from a French anti-smoking advertisement...not from a weirdo site)

Being against what he is doing is hateful! Don't be a beastiphobe! Why shouldn't he be a scout leader? Soon he will hailed as hero for having the courage to take his dog to prom.

A Republican actually has the guts to tell the truth. Very nice.

By the way. If you hit abuse on my pic, make sure you do it on the one showing two homosexual men holding little kids as well.

Another week of Washington Post "Virginia Is For Bigots" op eds.

At least we won't have to read more heartwarming stories of how illegals' lives will improve with Maryland's Dream Act (due to be shot down by popular vote in Nov.).

Sodomy is not a civil right. It's not the same as the civil rights movement

Still, it's not something the government should be looking into. On general grounds I agree with the repeal of sodomy laws because it's none of the government's damn business. That is, until that sodomite wants the government to put him in a position of trust, power and authority over others. Then it is very much the government's business.

Why? If the guy or gal is openly same sex, then they can't be blackmailed because of that. If they're into kinky sex, that's a risk we take with any officeholder, unless we're going to wire them.

Marshall is a good man, I have spoken to his wife briefly a few years ago-too bad he didn’t even come close to winning the Senate race.

It is not a civil rights movement.

It is more of a fender bender, rear ender movement.

Seriously, he’s totally correct. I really do not know why minorities have not just come out being totally offended at being morally equated to the “struggles” of sodomites and lesbians.

The reason sodomy laws existed is because it causes diseases and promotes vice that costs the civil society economically and health wise. There are actually very good reasons to have sodomy laws.

We have a right to outlaw acts which destroy the “general welfare” and destroy Virtue—since all Founders knew (since the time of Plato) that Virtue is necessary for a free society. The MOST important element for economies to flourish and for a successful, humane military is Virtue.

Excellent response and analysis. The same reasons we have laws against and discourage Prostitution, drug abuse, and other forms of moral turpitude. Only in a warped society would someone champion the right to openly engage in sodomy while making the act of driving without a seat belt illegal.

If you think that is a crazy analogy, think of how much more likely it is to get physically and psychologically damaged or die from a disease if you bugger other men as often as you drive, with or without protection while engaging in either?

Ha-—No thanks to you for that ugly image!

The point is that we were a Nation based on Reason, Logic and Science and we recognized God as the Giver of our Natural Rights and as the Lawgiver.

Marxist/Progressive/Atheist thinking throws God out and Natural Laws—the basis of our Constitution because it is the basis of Common Sense.

Without the Laws of Nature, we would know nothing—never developed the concept of gravity, guns, iron, fire, etc. etc. We would have chaos.

That is what the Marxists want-—chaos—and with no logic and reasoning for Just Law—that is what we will get.

Homosexual “marriage” is a vile, ugly concept which defies logic and reason and biology. The fact that the Marxists can actually talk about this without snickering, tells you how ignorant people are who have went to their indoctrination centers, the public schools which destroy morals intentionally and destroy knowledge and wisdom.

People just don’t want to pay public welfare benefits for two lunatics sodding off all day.

Muslims would just kill homosexuals.

Taking into consideration broken clocks tell the correct time twice each day, maybe “spread the other cheek” is not a good public policy.

In your unabridged Oxford Dictionaries, the word “faggotry” denotes the bundling of steel to be hammered or rolled together.

Mammalian evolution is entirely heterosexual.

Monogamy is not required for evolution, monogamy is a tenet of religion.

To prohibit polyandry and polygyny is an ecclesiastic rule of law.

To establish an ecclesiastic standard of monogamy for homosexuals is nothing but RELIGIOUS FAGGOTRY.

Democrats live in a fantasy world where fairies wave magic wands over their anus and babies materialize out of thin air.

All men are born of a woman.

If you have to tell grown men that babies will not come out of their rectums, there is no hope for any rational discourse...

I do like how this guy highlights the problem with equating sodomy with voting rights...or being born black.

I’m guessing this is one reason why the black community consistently votes against gay marriage...it HAS to tick them off!

Do you think this is why so many blacks quietly pull the lever against gay marriage?

They don’t want to be labelled as bigots - so they aren’t too outspoken, but when it comes time to pull the curtain and vote.....

The Supreme Court legalized sodomy, the entertainment and news media try to normalize it, and now the Democrat Party wants to institutionalize it.

I generally have a problem with victimless crime laws. Oh, I know, “But society is the victim.” I don’t buy it. The further you have to stretch to find victim (as in an actual live person harmed against his will), the more likely you are going to trample on freedom. This thinking is the bedrock of the nanny state.

THIS is where the substance of the debate should be, not marriage. If we properly push the argument back to the illegitimacy of homosexual conduct (and all deviant sexual behavior, for that matter), the counterfeit marriage issue would be mute.

Are you listening, NOM?

Even though sodomy laws were rarely enforced (you'd have to have men or woman having sex in public view, which is against the law anyway) and the level of crime was usually on the order of a traffic ticket - Class C misdemeanor in Texas - it served as a powerful censure on deviant conduct, according to the vast majority of the community, ancient tradition, and our Judeo-Christian value foundation, which IS the default value system in America.

Now, the libertarians will come out of the woodwork telling us we have no right to regulate "private conduct." That argument is now proven laughable, considering the rampant homo-impositions that are being forced on normal people all over this country in this day.

And as much as the givernment’s behavior may lead you to believe otherwise, it’s not one of their enumerated powers either.

In a truly free society-—where freedom of speech and press is respected—even if they “offend” some people or group—that is the only system which is supported by Just Law—Rule by Law (vs. Rule of Man—made-up arbitrary law that Barney Frank “feels” is “right”.)

Just Laws is the basis of equality and freedom. Without it (Cicero, Founders), there is no Justice—no equality under the law. The Standard is God’s Laws—the Bible—Universal Truths which were recognized in in Western Civilization—even observed in Eastern nations (family unit, lying/cheating evil, etc.).

A game (football) can not be played if there is not one set of rules. Civil Societies can never exist under arbitrary laws—they will become totalitarian (Cicero). America has its set of rules-—it is God’s standard of Right and Wrong, set in the 10 Commandments—which has its traditions set in Common Law and the Magna Carta and the Mayflower Compact.

No civil society can operate if Virtue is forced out of a society. Never can happen. That is why “sodomy is good” is being taught to children. It will destroy Christian ideology—the basis of Right and Wrong and put in Satan’s Ethics. It is on purpose to destroy the idea of God.

Zero is trying to eject not only God—but Natural Laws. That is Marxism at its core and it is meant to destroy the natural family—bedrock of civilizations—to destroy order and create chaos and state dependent dysfunctional people.
