Why Kenyan Birth Claim Was No 'Fact Checking Error'
American Thinker ^ | MAY 18, 2012 | Jack Cashill

Posted on 05/18/2012 11:33:25 PM PDT by RobinMasters

No sooner did the literary agency brochure in which Barack Obama was said to be Kenyan-born surface than the media went to work to deep-six it.

"This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me - an agency assistant at the time," Miriam Goderich, now a named partner in the literary agency, Dystel & Goderich, wrote in an emailed statement to Yahoo News, which was then picked up ABC News. "There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more."

This confession rings false to the point of preposterous for any number of reasons. Let us start with the obvious. At the time, 1991, the Acton & Dystel agency listed 90 clients, Obama among its least significant. How likely is it that Goderich would have remembered enough about a 1991 "error" to know it was hers, especially since it went uncorrected through several revisions until changed in 2007? To make this claim credible, there would have to be an existing paper trail leading to an Obama submission in which he lists an Hawaiian birth. I am confident that there is no such submission.

Kenyan provided black cred, Indonesian got him admission preference above and beyond being putatively black. He was both, one by birth and the other by adoption. If he was actually born in the United States as claimed, accepting admissions preference and perhaps aid or scholarship money on the basis of foreign citizenship at the age of majority constituted an affirmative act, that effectively renounced any US citizenship he may have had. Check the citizenship statutes regarding this issue. He “decided” legally speaking, and that is why all the secrecy is necessary.

Embarassed, perhaps, for being such weak minded, easily manipulated sheep?

The weak minded easily manipulated sheep are those of you who are allowing Obama and Axelrod's campaign of distraction to focus on anything but the economy.

It's no coincidence that they are floating the birther issue again to attempt to marginalize anyone who disagrees with Obama and you're falling for it.

It's a campaign based on distraction and branding one's enemies and you're falling for it friend.

The American people don't understand this issue, nor do they care at this point. What they care about is the fact that this POS has wrecked the economy, is causing further damage, and are watching friends and family struggle and lose their homes.

If you really want to save the country and stop Obama, talk about something that matters to most folks - The Economy - and stop letting Obama and Axelrod distract you from that issue.

It's just that damn' simple. Spare me the birther bullshit. I'm familiar with all of it. The fact that the country isn't in an uproar about it by now should really be telling you something. If not, your loss.

Oooh, it’s all a conspiracy, the dastardly “they” saved up printed material from 1991 saying Obama is Kenyan to distract from the economy in the 2012 election.

Republicans lost in 2008 to Obama because crabby old John MCCain was a poor candidate and a worse campaigner. The very idea that questions regarding the eligibility of a President for office is some sort of “distraction” to be derided and dismissed is just plain weird.

Are there any other Constitutional matters or legal statutes that should be ignored?

Seriously—REALLY SERIOUSLY—what do YOU think would have happened IF a Caucasian President had ever produced and published a YouTube Video for ALL WHITE PEOPLE to unite for a WHITE PRESIDENT… Seriously, what do you think would have happened?…

In my opinion, this is the MOST SIGNIFICANT DEMONSTRATION of INTENTIONAL DIVISIVE RACISM by ANY PRESIDENT in the history of OUR COUNTRY that I recall having seen—I personally believe it is DESPICABLE!

Whose President IS HE?

Obama Announces the 2012 Launch of African Americans for Obama

This is a Dangerous Video.

Obama Announces the 2012 Launch of African Americans for Obama. This is what racism smells like. It can’t be explained away.

Would you vote for a white person who did this? I wouldn’t and I think they would be run right out of town if they tried it. This is just some food for thought if you’re pondering your vote in November.

Can you imagine Santorum or Romney or Newt or Paul putting out a call for all the white brothers and sisters to vote for him because he’s white and so are they?

If this video is not alarming to you, simply delete. If you are offended by what’s taking place, please pass it on.

In addition, his mother was a teenager (too young to confer citizenship on him) when he was born -- yet he lies by calling her an "anthropologist" (which is a graduate degree)....

Oh she was an "anthropologist", in fact she specialized in the study of big black genitalia, didn't you get the memo? LOL

Guess you're not familiar with photoshop, aging paper techniques and seeding documents for misinformation/disinformation campaigns, etc.. etc.. etc..

The fact that you and those like you continue to allow yourselves to be distracted to the point of being useful tools of Obama and Axelrod and their campaign of misinformation, distraction, lies and deceit is just sad.

Once again you and those like you are going to be cannon fodder for the election. I tried telling you, you won't listen. In a few months the media's going to love you for helping them re-elect Obama.

Have a nice life.

GREAT post SF_Redux, you hit the nail on the head!

Try to IMAGINE the outrage (real and fake) and the shrieking from blacks if the Republican candidate for President (presuming it's going to be Mitt-Witt, argh), announced the formation of "White Americans for Romney!", I'm laughing my azz off just visualizing the 24/7 coverage, AND (of course) Mitt-Witt's groveling and apologizing for it, along with anything else that may have offended anyone at anytime.

While I tend to agree, the Obots claim that “birth to two citizen parents” is ambiguous and not clear.

Why would they go to such length to cover conceal the truth if it were not damning?
Why fake a birth cirticate?
Why not show his colege records?
Not to mention mocking anyone who even questioned Obama’s eligibility or some reasonable proof of same.

She spilled something on her keyboard and in mopping up wrote born in Kenya.

Yeah...like the scene at the start of the film "Brazil" where the clerk, in trying to swot a fly, causes a speck of dirt to drop into his type writer and generates an arrest warrant for the wrong guy.

You’ve trotted out another “it’s just his turn” dud of a candidate, you own any loss that may occur. Looks like the blamecasting has already begun.

First, I am sure Obama provided this information for his bio as most do when a publishing company, PR firm, newspaper, etc. is preparing a release on an individual.

That said...There is something else about this bio that is a bit strange.

It states that Obama was born in Kenya (a country), and then raised in Indonesia (a country) and Hawaii - not a country, but a state in the U.S. Why didn't it say "raised in the United States" as opposed to simply "Hawaii?"

It is a small inconsistency but, IMHO, just another indication that Obama never considered himself a citizen of the United States as a whole. He felt estranged from this country, as many Hawaiians do, in a sense. There is some resentment by some native Hawaiians for the U.S. and, possibly, that also led to strengthening his feeling that that Americans are evil people. Back in the '60's many native Hawaiians felt that the U.S. imposed itself and its government where they were not wanted. Just another reason that, deep down, Obama has never felt any allegiance to this country. He grew up in cultures where the U.S. was mostly characterized in a bad light.

And you are, eh Sparky?

The fact that you and those like you continue to allow yourselves to be distracted to the point of being useful tools of Obama and Axelrod and their campaign of misinformation, distraction, lies and deceit is just sad.

0bama and Axelrod would be the first to thank YOU for joining them in pissing all over our Constitution by continuing to ignore 0bama's questionable credentials and dubious eligibility.

Once again you and those like you are going to be cannon fodder for the election. I tried telling you, you won't listen. In a few months the media's going to love you for helping them re-elect Obama.

"You tried tell us", just who-TF are you anyway? You think Andrew Breitbart signed up to be 'cannon fodder'? You think that promotional booklet stating that 0bama was born in Kenya was just an editing 'mistake'? That old Communist term of 'useful idiot' applies to you if that is your view.

Have a nice life.

YOU can have a "nice life" and play the ostrich like the rest of the 0bamunist Ministry of Information (aka the lamestream media) but REAL patriots are going to raise holy effin Hell about this, but don't worry: we'll let you know when it's safe to come out from under your bed.

“It’s an incredible development. How can you get around it?”

I suppose there is one way. As mentioned, he was one of their least significant clients at the time. Knowing he lies all the time - and assuming he wanted to get more attention, move up in the roster, he would submit this information to make himself more “exotic” and “interesting” - worthy of more of the agency’s attention. And maybe it IS the information he used to get into Harvard and was only reinforcing his original lie. With him, who knows?

There’s a distinct lawyerly scent associated with claiming to have been born in Hawaii instead of the US, just as there is with claiming to be native born instead of natural born. Relying upon imputed meaning to create an impression but carefully avoiding an actionable claim.

The pamphlet from the publisher is just one of many. Though the years, until 2007, newspapers in the States and around the world have carried the same “born in Kenya” meme.

Many disappeared as soon as freepers pointed them out. It was a pattern not just a single editors error. They are resurfacing now as people dig into their research files and pass them on to Brietbart/ others.

IS OBAMA LYING NOW OR WAS HE LYING THEN?

How would this woman know he was associated with Kenya if she was not told that. Why not Chad, or Nigeria, or Somalia? Wake up people. He was definitely born in Kenya. If not, let him prove otherwise. He cannot or he would have a long time ago, and not spent a fortune in court fees. Anyone who has nothing to hide does this.

This man is not elligable to be president according to the Constitution. There is nobody in a position to question him with the intestinal fortitude to do so, starting with the first person to have a chance, Judge R. Barclay Surrick.
