A YouTube video uploaded on Monday afternoon apparently shows a schoolteacher from the Rowan-Salisbury school district in North Carolina informing a student that failing to be respectful of President Obama is a criminal offense.
The video shows a classroom discussion about the Washington Post hit piece about Mitt Romney bullying a kid some five decades ago. One student says, “Didn’t Obama bully someone though?” The teacher says: “Not to my knowledge.” The student then cites the fact that Obama, in Dreams from My Father, admits to shoving a little girl. “Stop, no, because there is no comparison,” screams the teacher. Romney is “running for president. Obama is the president.”

35 years ago when I was wee youngster I got to experience the public school system in North Rowan County. We had primary school teachers there that didn’t know single digit math. It was a daily running race riot, starting in the first grade. My folks were planning a move to the catholic school (even though my father referred to them as papists) and instead we moved out of state.

If you lived in the 1970’s, where liberals were the minority, conservatives shouted down liberals as communists, nigger lovers, un Christian, traitors, etc, etc, etc. Why liberals made good inroads in the early days is they actually had a saying “I do not agree with you, but I will defend your right to say it”. Liberals broke into two groups, one is libertarian like, and the other is statists. Among the statists (big gov) they have the liberal wing and the leftist wing. The leftist wing is the most dangerous because they would not hesitate to go facist and violent. SEIU, ACORN, most minority leftist groups, Communist, etc etc. The liberal wing (more like Clintonista) represent 1/3 of the party; 1/3 is made up of voters who hesitate to vote GOP because they feel the GOP support corporate America more then Main Street America, and the other 1/3 is the radical left who wants a EU style society enforced by a facist government. It is funny, the intolerant conservatives of the 1960’s is replaced by a civil conservative movement and the main reason is the new conservatives frame their behavior and principles on the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Something the 1960’s liberals started with but ceded the movement to the violent radicals of the 1960’s in terms of intimidation, violence and facist tactics.

That isn't quite correct, although there can be concomitant mental illness certainly. It is a matter of choice and that immoral choice can not be excused by "illness" status. In fact, the only psychiatric disorders that sometimes render the patient insane (not understanding or being able to act upon the difference between right and wrong) are psychotic ones, and no one has ever seriously framed homosexual orientation as psychotic, more like a personality disorder. But your point is well taken: we don't want them teaching our kids!

I agree. We need to get rid of the Federal Dept of Education, put control of the schools back in local hands, get rid of the teacher unions, end tenure, and eventually move to a place where all our children are taught at home.
Actually I have more respect for some of the people who work at fast food and similar jobs. A certain percentage of them are hard working individuals with integrity and good values who just can't progress beyond that for whatever reason.
