Worst Parent of the Week: Dad Puts Toddler in Washing Machine and Turns it On

There's no way to know what the parents were thinking. Maybe they were trying to scare their kid into good behavior. Maybe they were just goofing around. Maybe they thought it would be funny --there's a large sign hanging above the machines, saying "Junior Wash: $2.95." Whatever it was, it could have easily ended in tragedy.

Did you see though, the Dad thought it would be great fun.
The Mom about freaked out when she saw it.

People do stupid things. Glad the baby was okay.

What’s worse: What they did, the ad you can skip in ten seconds, or the More Awesome Videos link?

I don’t think they knew they were on camera. Probably going to sue the laundry mat.

How does anyone know that is this kid’s dad? Could be just the next baby daddy. How many times do we read about the boyfriend killing the kid?

The woman appears to be looking right at him as he is doing it. She kind of turns around and looks behind her to see if anyone is watching, then goes into panic mode. I may be wrong, but I think she knew what was going on.

"... could have easily ended in tragedy." WTF???

That poor kid WAS injured. Watch it again - he didn't just ride that around in a circle, he fell top to bottom several times. That machine had at least 3 agitator ripples in it that are probably 6" high. There could have easily been broken bones and or skull fractures, as well as nasty bruises.

I used to fix commercial laundry equipment. That machine evidently unlocks the door when the power is cut off. They didn't used to do that. Either that, or the attendent did a great job with a wire hook to get the door open so fast.

I can't believe the stupidity.

Then I called it wrong.

They were both stupid.

IMHO, society ought to have zero tolerance for any kind of child abuse, whether it’s done out of ignorance or malice.

This guy needs to lose custody of his children forever, go to prison for a good looong time, have his b***s chopped off with a hatchet, no anesthetic. Give the ballsecutioner just one terrifying whack at them, so the condemned man will know that there is always the possibility of... uh... more serious damage.

Leave your kids in a hot car? Toss them in the washing machine? Give one of them a case of shaken baby syndrome? Zero tolerance and a death sentence for the most malicious cases. Tired of reading about this crap. The courts need to get parents’ undivided attention.

I know a guy who, as a kid, put his arm into a washing machine and turned it on. He now has metal plates in his left arm.

“What’s worse: What they did, the ad you can skip in ten seconds, or the More Awesome Videos link?”

The stupid ads. We may need to start a writing campaign informing companies that we will boycott anyone who slams ads in front of clips like this. I notice a lot of media websites are doing it too.
