Battle begins for control of France's parliament

Campaigning for France's parliamentary elections officially begins Monday in what is expected to be a fierce battle between left and right. Without a majority in the lower house, President Hollande will struggle to deliver on his campaign promises.

The battle to take control of France’s National Assembly begins in earnest on Monday when the four week campaign period is officially launched. The Socialist Party is hoping to follow up the presidential triumph of François Hollande by gaining a majority in France’s lower house when the elections take place over two rounds on June 10 and 17.

Although poll numbers look good for the left in general, with a recent BVA opinion poll putting their share of the vote at 45.5 percent nationally, the Socialists’ quest for control of parliament could still be undermined. Party chiefs have failed to reach an agreement with the far-left Left Front coalition, opening up the possibility that the Socialists could be pushed out of the second round vote in as many as 90 out of the 577 districts. Without a majority, Hollande would struggle to pass reforms, such as the 75 percent tax rate on the super rich, which he promised during his presidential campaign.

“If we were to lose legislative elections, the vote for Hollande will have been good for nothing,” Socialist deputy finance minister Benoît Hamon recently told television channel France 3. He said a right-wing government blocking Hollande’s suggested reforms would see France “fall into chaos”. “Financial markets would attack the country,” Hamon warned.

Check out the female in the left hand corner of the last row. Is that Mr. Ed’s sister?

As you can well see from the pictures of Hollande’s cabinet, he has kept his campaign promise of parity, ie affirmative action.
Are they qualified, with experience? Mainly not. A few heavy weights with vast political experience, but the parity man/women, old/young, French-French/ minority, often foreign born is a left wing utopian nightmare.
Most are technocrats, bureaucrats, functionaries who do not speak French, but technospeak.
There us still a chance if UMP and the right can win enough seats
The jungle primary is June 10, round 2 is June 17.

This gaggle of nefarious Marxists are going to bankrupt the people of France into begging for food and order, begging for a strongman, begging for another Napoleon.

Hollande and Obama plan on being the first emperors after their policies have caused the final collapse of their respective republics.

If he thinks the attack by the financial markets will be bad if they lose, he is in for a surprise. It will be much worse if they win.

Many French people of means are leaving France. Of course they are taking their businesses, and jobs with them, as well as their money and investments.
They are moving to London, Singapore, and NYC.
