A Jefferson Parish school psychologist criticized for posting hostile remarks about African-Americans online has left his job. Mark Traina, who worked in the Jefferson public school system, came under scrutiny when a civil rights organization complained about his inflammatory rhetoric.
His resignation was effective Tuesday, said school system spokeswoman Beth Branley, who declined further comment. News of Traina's bellicose commentary on issues involving the black community initially spread on Monday.
Traina, who described himself on Twitter as white, married, age 55, a Slidell resident and interested in "politics, the economy, reading and expressing my opinion," issued tweets saying "young black thugs" who commit crimes should be "put down like the dogs they are" and invoking the names of white supremacist David Duke and Alabama segregationist governor George Wallace, among other malevolent posts.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, based in Montgomery, Ala., called attention to the Twitter messages and other statements from Traina on NOLA.com - in both places using his real name - after it filed a complaint with federal regulators last week about high referral rates of black children to the Jefferson school system's alternative schools for struggling students. The center alleged that black and special education students end up in academic limbo in those programs. Lawyers for the school system have declined to discuss the allegations.
Traina worked with alternative schools and contributed to the process of directing students to those sites. A lawyer for the law center, Eden Heilman, said its case workers have previously met with him about situations with individual students.

Noticed that the SPLC went after him but hasn’t said nary a word about the black overt racists talking about killing whitey and a race war.
They always say “the truth shall set you free”. Now he is free to stand in the unemployment line, etc.
He said the joke among the teachers was that there were two kinds of black students in University City, the ones who were going to Yale, and the ones who weren't.
"Yale or jail" is the way they put it.
Of course when blacks make similar outlandish comments against whites, they never get called on it.
I would have to see the actual comments before I concluded that they were “outlandish”.
His posts on Twitter, also using his real name, are more heated, including a January comment that, “Young Black Thugs who won’t follow the law need to be put down not incarcerated. Put down like the Dogs they are!”

Inappropriately angry for a school psychologist, but not overtly racist. I'm not from the south, so how bad is it to say "Santorum wins Mississippi and Alabama primaries: I grew up in Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana-I am a Wallace Man at Heart!". That's one of the tweets the article called malevolent.
Is that code for being pro-segregation, or more akin just being a redneck with a confederate flag bumper sticker?
In a March comment about an article on a violent incident in New Orleans, he wrote, “Quick someone call David Duke before the NAACP gets here!”
I’m an old John Bircher. 40 years ago, I tried so hard to make the white populace, (and those blacks who really wanted get ahead) realize that the commies had compromised the black community.
When Barry ran for office, so damn many white useful idiots charged into the fray and voted for the man to “prove” they weren’t ‘racists.’
It NEVER occurred to them, that they were NOT the racists, but the brainwashed black community was instead.
I sit and smile, because every day, when another white is victimized by the black racist mob mentality hatred for whites, I gain another convert.

I haven’t heard much from the SPLC in recent years. It seems I see them mentioned once or twice a week in the last month. Those cretins need to crawl back under a rock somewhere
