The proportion of Hispanic voters in North Carolina, which is considered to be a key state in the upcoming presidential election, has doubled over the past four years, according to a recent analysis by the Institute for Southern Studies. The report, based on figures from the state election board, emphasized the Tar Heel state's changed circumstances, given that its voting age population is becoming more diverse. In May 2008, there were 44,719 registered Hispanic voters in the state, or 0.8 percent of the total, and as of the same month this year there were 91,554, representing 1.5 percent of the North Carolina electorate. According to the analysis, the number of voters in North Carolina who did not identify themselves as white grew by 5.6 percent since 2008 to 29 percent of the total.

This increase has placed North Carolina in a similar position to states like Florida, where the number of non-white voters grew by 2.2 percent between July 2008 and January 2012, making up 30 percent of registered voters, the report said.

The Birch Society people have said for years one of the mechanisms for putting a socialist despotism in place in the US was to encourage large numbers of people from countries with no history of responsible government but highly paternalistic social orders to settle in the US. These people would come here with expectations to be given benefits and have no real feelings of allegiance to the United States. They will vote for whoever will pay them off with easy access to benefits which citizens will be taxed to pay for. Eventually there will be enough parasite populations that they will greatly out number productive native Americans. A large army disguised as a 'national emergency services corps' can be recruited principally from the parasites to be used to terrorize the tax paying minority, (TSA?). This all seemed fanciful 40 years ago. Today it sounds like the playbook of the political class

In the short run, these trends help Democrats tremendously. In the long-run, all of their various coalition members will discover that their interests aren't all that well aligned, and they will split off into separate factions.

Of course, the same is likely to happen to the GOP as well. The end result, will be a European-style multi-party system where true conservatives are never able to win, but center-right coalitions will sometimes come to power.

All of which, I suppose, is a roundabout way of saying our country is screwed.

The proportion of Hispanic voters in North Carolina,...

Why is it even important who the voters are as long as they are legal and AMERICAN?

The deviation from importance to trivial and the creation of issue with the trivial is nothing but a political ploy to alter the outcome of elections and in most cases to legitimize "illegal" voting.

Wouldn't be surprised if 90,000 of the 91,554 could not prove that they were legal U.S. citizens and authorized, constitutionally to vote.

Immigration, Political Realignment, and the Demise of Republican Political Prospects

Hispanics vote 65-35 Dem. It does matter who they are.

I wonder how this happened? All the illegal aliens boycotting Arizona moved there?

Hussein’s fawning media taught us that there are at least two colors of Hispanics.

Kind of like how oral sex wasn’t really sex after 1998.

The 1960 election did this.

With no JFK there would not have been a Kennedy empire or Johnson, or Vietnam, or the 1960s, it was the election which destroyed us.

“However, if there is one man who can take the most credit for the 1965 act, it is John F. Kennedy. Kennedy seems to have inherited the resentment his father Joseph felt as an outsider in Boston’s WASP aristocracy. He voted against the McCarran-Walter Act of 1952, and supported various refugee acts throughout the 1950s. In 1958 he wrote a book, A Nation of Immigrants, which attacked the quota system as illogical and without purpose, and the book served as Kennedy’s blueprint for immigration reform after he became president in 1960. In the summer of 1963, Kennedy sent Congress a proposal calling for the elimination of the national origins quota system. He wanted immigrants admitted on the basis of family reunification and needed skills, without regard to national origin. After his assassination in November, his brother Robert took up the cause of immigration reform, calling it JFK’s legacy. In the forward to a revised edition of A Nation of Immigrants, issued in 1964 to gain support for the new law, he wrote, “I know of no cause which President Kennedy championed more warmly than the improvement of our immigration policies.” Sold as a memorial to JFK, there was very little opposition to what became known as the Immigration Act of 1965.”

are these numbers being fact checked against available data from naturalization officials and INS. Some who receive their permanent residency (green card) believe it gives them the right to vote. And election workers often have no idea what’s going on.

LOL. Of course it matters.

The U.S. adds one international migrant (net) every 36 seconds. Immigrants account for one in 8 U.S. residents, the highest level in more than 90 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13. In a decade, it will be one in 7, the highest it has been in our history. And by 2050, one in 5 residents of the U.S. will be foreign-born.

Currently, 1.6 million legal and illegal immigrants settle in the country each year; 350,000 immigrants leave each year, resulting in a net immigration of 1.25 million. Since 1970, the U.S. population has increased from 203 million to 310 million, i.e., over 100 million. In the next 40 years, the population will increase by an additional 130 million to 440 million. Three-quarters of the increase in our population since 1970 and the projected increase will be the result of immigration. The U.S., the world’s third most populous nation, has the highest annual rate of population growth of any developed country in the world, i.e., 0.963% (2011 estimate,) principally due to immigration.

The nation’s immigrant population (legal and illegal) reached 40 million in 2010, the highest number in our history. The U.S. immigrant population has doubled since 1990, nearly tripled since 1980, and quadrupled since 1970, when it stood at 9.7 million. Of the 40 million immigrants in the country in 2010, 13.9 million arrived in 2000 or later making it the highest decade of immigration in American history, even though there was a net loss of jobs during the decade. Growth in the immigrant population has primarily been driven by high levels of legal immigration. Roughly three-fourths of immigrants in the country are here legally. With nearly 12 million immigrants, Mexico was by far the top immigrant-sending country, accounting for 29 percent of all immigrants and 29 percent of growth in the immigrant population from 2000 to 2010.

. 87 percent of the 1.2 million legal immigrants entering annually are minorities as defined by the U.S. Government and almost all of the illegal aliens are minorities. By 2019 half of the children 18 and under in the U.S. will be classified as minorities and by 2042, half of the residents of this country will be minorities. Generally, immigrants and minorities vote predominantly for the Democrat Party. Hence, Democrats view immigration as a never-ending source of voters that will make them the permanent majority party.

Since the 1965 Immigration Act, our pro-population growth immigration policies have fueled major demographic changes in a very short period of time. In 1970, non-Hispanic whites comprised 89 percent of the population; today they are 66 percent; and by 2042, they will be 50 percent. The Democrats, under the banner of multiculturalism and diversity, have forged a political coalition that depends on individuals coalescing around racial and ethnic identities rather than the issues. The continuing and increasing flow of minority immigrants, mostly poor and uneducated, provides a natural constituency for the Democrats, which see them as their principal source of political power. By 2050 one in three residents of this country will be Hispanic.

It is not a given that we must bring in 1.2 million LEGAL IMMIGRANTS ANNUALLY, two thirds of whom are Hispanic. Most of these immigrants are poor and uneducated. 25% of the adults lack even a high school degree. 57% of immigrants, legal and illegal, use at least one major welfare program. Why should we continue to allow the colonization of this country by the Third World? Why should we stand by and allow the Dems to import more voters?

The 1965 Immigration Act: Anatomy of a Disaster

When the history of this country is written a hundred years from now, historians will point to the 1965 Immigration Act as the single most important event that led to the downfall of this nation. Demography is destiny.

Now that is insane, a people builds the greatest nation on earth, the greatest nation that has ever existed, and then people like you write an immigration law to replace the nation with foreigners who will use the vote to destroy the nation and overwrite everything that the nation once was, and what it was created to be.

We have erased America and ourselves, and have replaced ourselves with another people entirely.

WHO CARES? If Hispanics in North Carolina act according to the way surveys suggest A) at least 1/3 will vote Republican B) THAT 1/3 will cancel out the votes of half of the Democrat votes. C) That leaves a possible net plus 32,000 votes for Obama BUT D) given Hispanic enthusiasm of just 38% that leaves a net plus of about 13,000 votes.
Obama is down 9 points now in North Carolina and it is only May. As I asked: WHO CARES?

Benjamin Franklin said much the same thing about the Germans immigrants. Said they were ignorant and dirty. Insisted on using their own language....etc. Then came Dwight D. Eisenhower and John Peter Zenger amongst so many other successful Germans. This is a country of many cultures and languages. So many from different ethnic backgrounds. And we are a better country for it. Yet there are some like you who do not know or understand our history. Nor do you appreciate it. Franklin also lamented those Germans having the right to vote. Seems pretty silly now does it not?

If you want America to become totally leftwing and for conservatism to totally die and for the left to attain all of their goals, then why are you at freerepublic?

Your sole argument for replacing Americans with third world democrat voters is something that Ben Franklin said over 200 years ago? What kind of nonsense rebuttal is that for a conservative to make about the end of
America?

Now that is insane, a people builds the greatest nation on earth, the greatest nation that has ever existed, and then people like you write an immigration law to replace the nation with foreigners who will use the vote to destroy the nation and overwrite everything that the nation once was, and what it was created to be.

That is what you got from what I posted? And you think that was “left wing”? No reason for you and I to even attempt a conversation. If you think that post was left wing ...And you think it is solely applicable to 200 years ago...you and I? Never the twain shall meet.

So what are your reasons for wanting to replace Americans with third world democrat voters that we have no chance against, and who are replacing our constitution and original
America with leftism?

Do you know that without your immigration the democrats wouldd never win elections?

That liberalism would have had to move right and would be doomed, instead of conservatism?
