Johnson: Every member of Wisc. legislature received death threats [VIDEO]
The Daily Caller ^ | 5/26/12 | Michelle Fields

Sen. Ron Johnson said Thursday that every member of the state legislature in Wisconsin received an email that said “we’re going to put a bullet in your head. We know where you and your family live.”

Johnson, speaking in Washington, D.C. at America’s Future Foundation’s annual gala, said that at the height of Gov. Scott Walker’s fight against the unions, every member of the state legislature was threatened.

“The story really wasn’t told properly — we had every member of the state legislature get an email that said, ‘We’re going to put a bullet in your head. We know where you and your family lives.’ Now, that wasn’t reported very well because I guess that’s not newsworthy when it’s a union thug making a threat against a conservative.”

Johnson told The Daily Caller that the high level of intimidation and political divisiveness in Wisconsin is due to Walker’s fight to reign in spending pushed by public sector unions.

“Scott Walker did a hard thing — he actually solved a problem, and he did it in a way that recognized and addressed one of the growing problems here, and that is really the power of the public sector unions and, I would say, the unholy alliance between elected officials that get supported by those unions and the unions themselves,” Johnson told TheDC.

Johnson also spoke about the U.S. Supreme Court’s impending decision on Obamacare. He admitted that Republicans don’t have a plan for what they intend to do if Obamacare is ruled unconstitutional and said that he believes American’s are suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.

“I wish we could say that we absolutely have that nailed, but I’d say we don’t. I think there are a number of all kinds of different alternatives and there’s some really good ideas from a number of different members of Congress. I’m not afraid that we’re not going to be able to come to a consensus, I would just say we haven’t come to that consensus yet.”

“We collectively are suffering from the Stockholm syndrome here … when a hostage — somebody that has been kidnapped — is thankful, grateful for any ounce of mercy their captors show them. That’s whats happening. We are begging to be allowed to maintain that last ounce, that last shred of freedom.”

I prefer Dogpile to Google or Bing, both of which are government search engines and both of which bring up too much extraneous garbage.

Great point. Google is worthless since it quite obviously intentionally filters out any conservative articles. Bing is much better but I’ll check out Dogpile.

Oh goodie, you have experience. So does everyone else...at something or other.

Carry on? LOL, indeed I will and in my own way, as always.

I know this. All I said was I don’t recall seeing the news about this reported and thought it odd a story of this importance would be ignored. I have since been informed it was reported and I must have missed it.

I agree the Left is capable and guilty of threats such as these.

Uh ... I *thought* making DEATH THREATS against politicians, on any level, was a Federal Crime now. Or doesn't that count in Eric MY PEOPLE Holder's, 'Just-Us' Dept. if the politicians are Conservative, Republican, White, and/or are from 'fly-over country'.

But I have a feeling you'd get a visit from the FBI and its crack SWAT Team, plus Snipers, and Black Helicopters, if you just sent a 'greeting card' to a Black city hack pol in Chi or Philly that mocked Kwanzaa. Or to a 'Latino' pol in LA mocking 'Cinco De Drunko-skunko' :-)

Public employment unions should be/must be eliminated. That goes for police, fireman, and all so called civil service employees. It is well past the era when working people needed thugs to force money and welfare from the money baggers and instead place the burden on those majority of persons who want freedom to have and enjoy their own sweat earnings. No bunch of collectivists in this Nation should be allowed access to another persons self earned money.

Wisconsin Senator Johnson reveals that every member of the State legislature was threatened at height of crisis last year

FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.

This news surprised me. I know that all of the Republicans were threatened. It was reported and the Capital PD did nothing about it. At least one of the people who did this is known, and nothing has been done to her. I had not heard about any Democrats being threatened. Perhaps Johnson mis-spoke, or was vague on purpose.

Wow, what a jerk. He's been following for 15 years, but never heard your name? He must have never opened up any article about any female, or he would know for sure your opinion on hit-able-ness.

I predict a quick flameout.

He also declined to affirm, or in any way describe, Freepers FAR more integral to the site, and it's lore, than myself.

He's a poser. He's contentious. He'll never last.
