Osama bin Laden managed to dodge American security forces by moving undetected between safe houses around Pakistan in a large box hidden in a brightly colored truck filled with chickens, the Sunday Times reported, citing Taliban sources
According to the British newspaper's report, the box was designed by Abu Ahmed al-Kuwaiti, bin Laden’s trusted aide, who also set up the house in Abbottabad where the al-Qaeda leader lived for five years until he was killed last May by US Navy Seals.
Kuwaiti moved bin Laden by fitting the box to the floor of one of the elaborately decorated trucks that are a common sight on Pakistan’s roads, the report said. The box would be hidden under cargoes of cement, flour or rice — or even beneath livestock such as goats, sheep or chickens.

They put up a bit of a fuss for us killing bin laden. But when it comes down to it.. It’s an ugly mess.
Putatively, they took DNA samples of the man they killed and compared it to cooperative members of ObL’s family. I think Occam supports a Pakistani conspiracy of silence to hide Obama more strongly than a constructive U.S. conspiracy to fake his death.

I too think your theory has some substance. bin Laden has been sighted in Clammoth Falls, Washington living with Elvis.
But, imagine if Bin-Laden was not killed in that raid, and it was a "look-alike", or someone else entirely.
The news would be very embarrassing to Obama and to the whole administration and the military. So, a story is concocted about getting DNA just before discarding of the body, and then, conveniently disposing of the body before anyone could get a hold of it for "proper" identification. We'll never really know who was "buried at sea". Only a few people would've gotten close enough to ID the body, and gather the DNA. Are those people free to speak? Will they ever be?
When it comes to conspiracy theories, I wouldn't be too surprised if it were revealed we had already killed the real Bin Laden in Torah Borah or sometime under bush. The Taliban wouldn't want us to believe it and needed doubles to produce their videos and tapes. Obama wanted the glory, he certainly wouldn't waste the opportunity.
Keep in mind Bin Laden needed kidney dialysis; that limits your cave hiding options.
