White House shrugs off Polish apology demands (not going away, Bammy)
Yahoo.com ^ | Wednesday, May 30, 2012 | via AFP

Poland had earlier insisted that Washington must do more than simply express the "regret" offered by another White House spokesman late on Tuesday, hours after Obama's use of words deemed offensive by Warsaw....

Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Obama's words had hurt all Poles and he expected more from Washington than just regret.

"I am convinced that our American friends can today allow themselves a stronger reaction than a simple expression of regret from the White House spokesman -- a reaction more inclined to eliminate once and for all these kinds of errors," Tusk told reporters in Warsaw.

"Today, this is a problem for the reputation of the United States," the prime minister said.

Members of Poland's Jewish community -- including the country's Chief Rabbi Michael Schudrich -- said in a statement that: "We expect President Barack Obama to personally correct his words."....

Poland's government keenly watches the global media for descriptions of former Nazi German death camps as "Polish" because it says the term -- even if used simply as a geographical indicator -- can give the impression that Poland bore responsibility for Nazi Germany's World War II genocide....

Popman’s right. Obama will bow, scrape and apologize to any tinpot dictator or imam for America’s imagined transgressions.

Obama needs to APOLOGIZE to the Polish people for what he said. He spent his day giving out awards to mostly communists; but this man deserved for Obama to give him his due congratulations and then SHUT HIS DAMN PIE HOLE.

He needs to APOLOGIZE to the people of Poland, then quit talking and sit down and SHUT UP. He has embarrassed us with this gaffe, and should not be allowed to flip up his nose at us and the Polish people any more. The media has also been a total embarrassment for what they’ve allowed him to get away with under the guise of being tolerant and “intelligent”. If this is what passes for “intelligent”, just give me plain old George Bush. I’d rather.

If Bush had said it last time around there would be no out cry from the right.

That is right because Bush would have had the good
sense to give a heart felt apology in the first place.

Obama need only say a few sincere words and all this
would be past...we will see.

You are expressing your support for the ignorance, arrogance and incompetence of the Obama administration, in the name of patriotism. No, thanks.

The USA doesn’t need to apologize.
OBAMA needs to apologize, it’s his gaff.

I'm expressing my support for the idea that America has nothing to apologize for period. A president I dislike made a stupid comment which merits nothing more than a expression of regret from the Office of the President of the United States.

Folks need to get past their hatred of the bastard and start thinking what is best for the country. Having any president jump through hoops of heartfelt apology, political correctness and just plain silliness is not in the interest of this country.

The USA doesn’t need to apologize.

I can think of 69 million people who owe the Poles and us a BIG apology. Assh*les.

Some of the comments from progressives about this are unreal. One said the Polish PM needs to move on to “important” things. Another said Poland and the Polish people are to blame for Auschwitz. Yet another said Polands PM needs to apologize to obama and the rest of the world for Auschwitz and the Holocaust.

The preezys refusal to apologize is proof that he didn’t misspeak. It was deliberate.

Remember Obama telling Puti Putes bitch Medved that “just wait till I get re-elected and I will have more room for negotiatins”. What he meant nobody knows but FDR and Molotov, Von Ribben Troft come to mind. FDR Sold out Poland and Russia abided. FDR was the biggest traitor in US history until now. IMO

Your post #49.

I'm expressing my support for the idea that America has nothing to apologize for period. A president I dislike made a stupid comment which merits nothing more than a expression of regret from the Office of the President of the United States.

I had previously commented on the description by Mayor Marion Barry of a certain group of citizens. He used the unfortunate word "Polacks". I felt he should get off lightly. I had quoted from William Shakespeare, who had used the word in his play "Hamlet. Prince of Denmark". Once again I will use a quotation from Shakespeare. It happens to be from the same masterpiece.

This above all to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not be false to any man.

Polonius:
William Shakespeare's Hamlet.

I do hesitate though, having been fortified with an adult beverage, to go against the general run of views. I simply ask that are we as free thinkers and who agree to disagree, to fall prey to enforcing our own brand of political correctness.?

I concede that it is vital to the free world, that the ideas of the President's men be thrust aside. Vital that who he is, be exposed fairly.

I am going to be sorry for hitting the post button (grin).
