I’m not sure you understand how dangerous BO is to this country.

Oh, I understand.

But I'm not sure you understand how dangerous an electorate with no principles left is to this country. Especially a "conservative" electorate, since they're the only mass of folks who could possibly turn this country around if they would stop supporting what they say they hate.

Wow, good for you. You’re my new hero!

Now, if only you had some principles to go along with your elbow-rubbing, you’d be good to go.

>>some of them so much that they won’t even admit they’re supporting him even when they’re supporting him<<

Just because you WANT people to say they support someone, doesn’t mean that it’s true.

Because a vote against someone is still a vote.

Because of endorsements, because of VP selections, because of hinted cabinet members, because of potential justices, conservatives should vote to go backward in the hope that they’ll go forward.

That's it in a nutshell. I'm smelling a whole lot of "if" coming off this plan. Basically, the pro-Romney people are trying to sell us on their candidate by asking us to ignore his entire history and record prior to mid-2007, and to just "trust them" that he's not really playing them like a cheap violin.

I'd almost think they were just trying to play some drawn out parody of 1984, what with all the stuff going down the memory hole and all the revision of Romney as the next great paladin of conservatism, except I know that they're serious. That's what sad. They're serious. They're scared, they're not thinking straight, they're letting their emotions get the better of them, and they're serious. They actually believe that electing Romney is going to make much difference versus Obama. Yet - as I've noticed - not a single **** one of them has been able to actually answer any of the points I've made or the questions I've asked. All they can do is yap about "you're just helping to re-elect Obama!" or "you just hate Mormons!" while regaling us with tendentious stories about John Schmitz that serve to replace intelligence with verbosity.

And this is the state of "conservative activism"?

Looks like we need some new conservative activism. The old type is obviously sclerotic.

LOL I saw a thread earlier today where Romney was declared to be the next Ronald Reagan.

Because a vote against someone is still a vote.

Except for the FACT that there is no place on the presidential ballot to vote against someone. You are only allowed to vote for your chosen candidate. That's it.

>>They actually believe that electing Romney is going to make much difference versus Obama.<<

Oh for heaven’s sake.

1. Do you know anyone who has the understanding and gained their understanding of Jesus Christ and defend it, and they got that understanding from someone like Jeremiah Wright? Do you know anyone who is a good Christian that believes there is no salvation unless there’s collective salvation?

2. Do you know somebody who is raised and/or mentored by communists?

3. Do you have friends or acquaintances that are Marxists, Communists, or have been actively engaged in the overthrow of the United States government?

4. Have you ever been at a party celebrating someone who has been accused of domestic terrorism?

5. Do you know anyone or have you ever been to a party and gave a toast to someone who is accused of being a Muslim terrorist?

6. Do you or any of your friends have the belief that terrorism doesn’t really exist? And that by definition jihad is only a holy struggle?

7. How many of you or how many of your friends have hired members of the Muslim Brotherhood to provide security for your business or their business? Or would hire members of the Muslim Brotherhood to go through and put together your security for your town?

8. Do you have any friends that believe the Muslim Brotherhood is largely secular and good?

9. Do you know anybody that thinks NASA’s foremost goal should be Muslim outreach, so you can help them and NASA can help them feel good?

10. Do you know anybody who believes that Occupy Wall Street features the best people in our country right now?

11. Is it even conceivable that anyone you know or associate with would think that killing Osama Bin Laden was a tough decision? With that, you have a single friend who in that case would make sure that we have a “blame someone else” memo ready just in case it went wrong?

12. Do you have anybody in your circle of friends or your circle of influence that believes America and Israel is the biggest obstacle to peace and stability in the world. Do you know anyone who believes the United States constitution needs to be a photo negative to be right with the world today?

13. Would you or anyone you know take a gift given to the United States after 9/11, a bust of Winston Churchill, and try to give it back to the prime minister on your first meeting? And when he says, “No, no, that’s a gift, you can keep it,” would you or anyone in your circle of influence then take that bust, box it up, ship it back yourself and say “We don’t need it anymore”?

14. Do you know anyone, a single person, who has a wife or a husband that has never been proud of the United States of America until something good happened in their life?

15. Do you know anybody who would actively defend allowing a baby to die without treatment in a hospital if an abortion failed? That the baby would be born outside, the doctors would have it, and they would be allowed to put it in a closet and just let it die?

16. Would someone in your life withhold needed money from poor countries or suggest that needed money from poor countries was withheld unless they change the Constitution to be pro-abortion?

17. Do you know anybody who believes the only way out of debt is to spend $5 trillion in three and a half years? Or believes Solyndra and other green businesses were a good bet, and that the people’s hard earned money is something you should gamble with and you think that it should continue?

18. How many people do you know personally that would give a shout out to someone to say, “Hey, I just want to say hi to Bob over there and thank Bob – It’s been a great day, Bob,” before you had to announce to the country that 13 soldiers were murdered by an Islamic extremist on our own soil?

19. Do you know anybody who claims to be a huge Israeli supporter? Do you know anybody who says, “I’m the biggest fan of Israel, they’re our biggest and strongest ally, and I’m a huge supporter. I’m the best thing that has happened.” And that when the prime minister of that country flew from the other side of the globe to have a scheduled dinner with you, you would humiliate him and blow off for dinner? Let him eat alone while you had a quiet dinner someplace else with friends? Do you know anybody who says, “I am the biggest supporter of Israel,” and then visited all of the Muslim countries around Israel but couldn’t find the time to go to Israel? And that as Israel’s biggest, most loyal supporter, believes they should go back to the indefensible ’67 borders? I understand it if you’re not a fan of Israel, but if you’re a fan of Israel, do you know a soul that is a true fan of Israel that says, “Yes, go back to the ’67 borders”?

20. Do you know any committed capitalist who believes in redistribution of wealth?

Tell they are the same.

Okay, I vote for the person who can beat Obama.
If it’s Thor against Obama, and Thor has a chance to win, I vote for Thor.

I know Thor is a fictional character but if he can beat Obama. I’m there.

There will be no country. If BO gets back in, the nightmare begins.

With the core principles of this free republic intact, defended by millions of American patriots, Barack Obama can't destroy us. Without those principles, with a completely compromised electorate, George Washington couldn't save us.

The sad irony is that the ABO crowd is likely creating a self-fulfilling prophecy, a reality in which they've not only sacrificed all principle out of fear of Obama, but with Obama in office for another four years as well.

I've never seen a candidate's supporters run away from him to this extent, I gotta say.

Good night. I have duties to attend to.

I have kids. They are very sweet girls who would like a future that doesn’t look like we walked into a Terminator movie. I live outside of Detroit. You’ll live to fight, we’ll be blots on a sidewalk if Obama wins again. The ghetto gangs have been emboldened by Holder and his ilk. Once they have full reign, without thought of reelection, they will begin to move. Thanks, but no thanks. I love my country and will use my vote to prevent your boo-yah future.

You can live in LaLa land and dream your big dreams of fighting off the Zombies with guns a’blazin’. I’ll fight with my vote.

At first I thought perhaps you were an arrogant fool, trying to get a few more to vote for you, to up your totals to maybe ten thousand. But after reading the bilge you keep trying to spill upon fellow freepers I'm now convinced that you are just a spite-filled, braying donkey. No, not a democrat, a braying, noisy, spiteful donkey. As things are now running either Barack Obama or Milt Rominy will be the presdient in January 2013. You won't be, Virgil Goode won't be, ort any other also ran. The reality is either Rominy or obama will be sworn in as things now stand.

Your bonehead effrot to ignore that reality tells me, at least, that you are spitefully wnting the little barry bastard commie to be sworn in yet again, so the Republic goes away for not being what you demand it to be. It reminds me of the gal who marries a bad boy thinking she can change him, and when she awakens to realize that she can't, she runs him down with the SUV he bought for her to drive so she would be safer on the road. You're no friend of this Republic in working to end it asap with your spite-filled taunting and insults to those voting AGAINST the barry bastard commie by choosing the only other one on the ballot that stands a chance of ridding US of the marxist bastard boy.

Now, you arrogant ass, call me a Romney supporter and give me the reason to REALLY expose you.

Tell they are the same.

I didn't say they were the same. I said that Romney wouldn't make much difference versus Obama.

Face it, most everything you list doesn't involve actual governing policy. Yet, how they would govern is what I'm talking about. Both of these men are pro-abortion, pro-gay, pro-progressive taxation, support abridging religious freedom when it's "necessary," support government run health care, have raised taxes, believe in manmade climate change and support cap-and-trade type policies, support gun control, etc. These are all facts, however much you may personally dislike them. Frankly, it doesn't matter if Romney's white, not a Muslim, and doesn't hang out with Bill Ayers. He's still a lousy candidate with a lousy record that suggests that on actual, substantial governing policy, he's not going to be much different from Obama. Like it or not.

Actually, dear Yashcheritsiy, I was trying to focus attention on his personal history, not to ignore it.

I suspect not a few people around here easily fall for conspiracy theories....

Once again, I didn't start off as a "pro-Romney people." But he's the best candidate standing right now; one who has a good chance of being elected President. And that helps me with "Job One": removing a criminal conspiracy from the Oval Office.

You’re fighting the good fight. thanks.

I’ve retired for the day but I’ll be back tomorrow.

I’d like to add one thing about the election.

Some people are voting for Romney because they hate and fear the alternative. They are ABO.

Some people are voting for Romney because, although he wasn’t their initial favorite, they are liking what he’s saying and doing and feeling a growing respect for him. That would be me.

Some people are voting for Obama because they like Obama or haven’t a clue.

Some people are voting for Obama because they are too pure, too fine, too conservative, too whatever to vote for Romney.

If those people continue in their misguided ways, they could be the difference.

The sad thing is they are prepared to live with the destruction of our country on the altar of their purity.

So thanks again for all your time, but please take me off your ping list.

This was my first post to you, so rest assured that it will be my last unless you engage me in further conversation, or you happen to post an article to which I elect to comment.

I pinged you only because you were part of such discussions earlier.

Feel free to re-join the discussion anytime.

The only problem I really have with it is that this is not a GOP forum. Never has been, and as long as Jim Robinson owns it, never will be.

Well if, as you say, that's the only problem you had with what I wrote I'll take that as a compliment, thanks.

Strangely, I dont recall ever saying this was a GOP forum.

That said, I am quite sure that Jim speaks for himself without needing the "help" of others.

Who I vote for and why are very dear to me.

Well then you'd better hope Obama doesn't get re-elected and that you make sure you do all you can with those God given blessings you're handing out to everyone everywhere to see to it that it doesn't happen.

Don't be just one of those (too) many "...be warmed and filled...." (James 2:16) types out there.

Deal?

Be well.

FReegards!
