President Obama Shuns Lech Walesa
National Review ^ | 6/1/12 | Rory Cooper

Posted on 06/01/2012 11:15:12 AM PDT by SaraJohnson

Lech Walesa was once a trade-union activist. He was often arrested for speaking his mind against Communist oppression behind the Iron Curtain in Poland and for defying the Soviet Union.

He was an electrician who, with no higher education, led one of the most profound freedom movements of the 20th century — Solidarity. He became president of Poland and swept in reforms, pushing the Soviet Union out of his homeland and moving the country toward a free-market economy and individual liberty. And President Obama doesn’t want him to set foot in the White House.

What, someone who fought against communism being allowed in the “new” White House . . . ? Can’t have that, can we?

Obama, being a communist, doesn’t want to associate with a man who stood up to Communism.

Disgraceful. Walesa was one the most important figures in the collapse of the Soviet Union and communism...

Oh now I understand!

Lech Walesa doesn’t need to go to the White House right now. He is a hero and his own man who KNOWS who HE is and can take comfort in all he did knowing what he did was right for his PEOPLE. He doesn’t need the White House. Not now anyway. Perhaps the NEXT NEW PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES will honor the man the way he should be honored. :) I’ll look forward to that when we vote in our new President and his First Lady!!!

I remember a plumber named Joe that had the audacity to ask the skidmark a question.

After W’s subtle jibes at the portrait ceremony, Obama probably wasn’t up for any “How many Obamas...” jokes.

It was so wonderful to see Lech Walesa pay his final respects to our beloved Ronnie when he was laying is state in the Capitol Rotunda. Walesa is one of the giants of our time and the _resident isn’t worthy to even shine his shoes.

Frankly, this makes me happy for Lech. He’s too good a man to suffer the company of that leftist cretin.

I remember this ceremony like it was yesterday.
Lech teared up while Bush spoke.
An amazing moment in history, at least for me.
Wish I could find a video of the ceremony.

From the NY TIMES:

"Mr. Walesa appeared to be fighting back tears tonight as he listened to Mr. Bush. When it was his turn, he spoke in a strong, happy voice wearing his medal on a ribbon around his neck and standing on a stool provided by the President so that the short, stocky electrician could have stand higher behind the lectern.

He said that, in finally coming to meet his American friends, ''one of the greatest dreams of my life has thus been fulfilled.''

He said that he admired America ''not because it is big or powerful or rich, although you could envy that,'' but because Americans had created a nation of democratic institutions and ''human attachments to freedom.'' $591 Million in Aid Proposed Congress is trying to give Mr. Walesa some, if not all, of the money he wants for his country. On Tuesday, the Senate is expected to consider a foreign aid bill that would provide about $591 million over three years in various forms of aid designed to promote democracy, private enterprise and the development of a free-market economy in Poland."

Walesa’s nutz are so big they’d death-ray Obama’s ridiculous carcase anywhere within a five mile radius.

Lech Walesa is a real Nobel Peace Prize winner, a real hero.

Obama could never stand next to him, the comparison would be poison for him

Because Mr. Walesa is a conservative foreign leader and Obama hates them (except that pay his but a lip tax like David Cameron-who really isn’t a conservative anyway).

Walesa spoke out against Occupy goals and tactics earlier this year, as well.

First he attacks average White, middle class, then he goes after the Catholics, then the Polish block, then the traditional marriage block.

Obama is either trying the throw the election, or he is a divisive, insane narcissist.
