What's this? Obama longs for GOP rival like McCain
Google/AP ^ | June 2, 2012 | JULIE PACE, AP

President Barack Obama seems to think that the world of politics would be better if someone like John McCain were running for the White House.

It's all a way of drawing a contrast with Obama's current GOP rival, Mitt Romney, and trying to convince crucial independent voters that the former Massachusetts governor is outside the mainstream.

But Obama's flattering memories of McCain conflict with their campaign clashes of 2008. Back then, Obama hammered his rival as "out of touch" with many of the problems facing people in the United States.

Today's platitudes also conceal the reality of Obama's current dynamic with McCain. The senator is one of the president's staunchest critics on everything from health care to foreign policy, and he's a vocal Romney supporter.

Obama's take on McCain has become a standard part of his fundraising appeal to donors. As the general election heats up, the Obama campaign is relishing more opportunities to try to turn its former foe into an asset.

When Romney didn't condemn his supporter Donald Trump for raising more questions this week about the president's citizenship, the Obama campaign dug up old video clips of McCain correcting supporters in the 2008 who said they were scared of Obama and one clip of a supporter who thought he was an "Arab."

"As the Republican nominee, John McCain stood up to the voices of extremism in his party," an Obama Internet video says. It then asks why Romney won't do the same.

The most important thing Obama likes about McCain is that McCain LOST to Obama, because McCain refused to fight tooth-and-nail.

Romney won't make the same mistake and that has Obama running scared.

Obama is becoming pathetic.

Of course Obama thinks Romney is out of the mainstream. As much as I don’t like him, Romney’s not a dyed in the wool socialist. Thats what Obama considers mainstream. If Romney is smart he will pick that up and hammer Obama with it.

Obama doesn’t know HOW to fight for anything. He is and has been an affirmative action case all his life....Handed good grades, Good Jobs, State and Federal offices because of his skin colour. He expects the Republican nominee to just “be There” and roll over dead so Obama can win once again.

Of course Zero and the RATS would love to see McCain types running every 4 years. It’s like having 2 democrats running at the same time.

In my view, yours is a very accurate and pragmatic assessment. I entirely agree.

If you look at Baraq’s election wins, they were all over extremely flawed opponents.

He’s like a guy who got to be heavyweight champ but never fought a guy with a winning record.

I’m convinced the Chicago mob had incriminating evidence on the Clintons (Arkancides) and they were intimidated from outing Baraq’s fake history.

Like the Kenyan bastard, Panama Juan was never eligible to run for president or VP.

Panama Juan must have realized he had been sniffed out/unmasked (with solid proof); and therefore, he stopped fighting.

Michael Barone had a recent column quoting from an article in the magazine New York by one John Heileman, which had a lot of pro-Obama spin but included a few interesting admissions, such as that the Obama campaign in 2008 ran more negative ads against McCain than any other campaign had ever done in history. Not that the media called attention to it--they were too busy gushing over Obama as the uniter and post-partisan nice guy.

The Republicans can expect the same thing on steroids this year--in fact it has been going on for several months, but so far all their lines of attack have failed.

Romney WILL win. He knows how to fight ... consider how he eliminated his GOP Rivals. Look how fast his team took on “Anne Romney has never worked a day in her life”, or how his team brought up the fact that Obama was raised eating dogs. He will take it to Axelrod in the streets and hire just as many hecklers as Obama will. And, when Romney wins, he will reach out to those Evangelical Christians who have tried to undermine his campaign. I look forward to great days ahead!

I actually supported Michele Bachman until she tanked and then pinned my hopes on Herb Cain but I so enjoy Romney moves like the Solyndra Show or the paid “tit for tat” hecklers. I look forward to Romney’s trip to a Travel Agency to take on Michelle’s Million Dollar vacations. We are in for exciting times.

While Romeny is picking up that HAMMER he can use it drive Obama’s socialist Sickle right thru his vampire heart! I hope Romeny puts his foot on Obama’s neck and never lets him up. Romeny can define the election by keeping on the Record Obama has compiled and slinging the same cow-dung Obama does but before he has defend more of the same.
