Already hobbled by Europe's debt crisis, the world now risks being hurt by slowdowns in its economic powerhouses.

The U.S. economy, the world's largest, had a third straight month of feeble job growth in May. High-flying economies in China, India and Brazil are slowing, too...

All the rainbows in the sky
Start to weep, then say goodbye
You won't be seeing rainbows any more
Setting suns before they fall, Echo to you that's all that's all
But you'll see lonely sunsets after all

It's over It's over It's over It's over

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Labor Force Participation Rates remain near 30-year lows. We've had 40 months of unemployment above 8%.

If you’re not already out of the market it will be best to not even look tomorrow.

I just hope we are not in for another 2008 bloodbath.

“There is a sense of impending doom on Wall Street, and investors are hoping central bankers will brighten the mood with some stimulus next week. “

LOL! ‘This time it will work!’

What is good for Obama?
I’d say a strong dollar to bring down prices, so: no QE until just before the election.

Yeah, hike that dollar, until we manufacture nothing at all. We don’t need no stinking anything but debt to continue “empowering” the political regulator class and its mobs of pensioners. The debt regime is magic with money.

This is going to be interesting, watching them fly high before the bond collapse, repudiation, currency adjustment, etc. I’ll make some popcorn.

I’m hoping it’s not worse.

And then some. I keep think about past experience of pent up armies, business and economics. When the wraps finally get pulled off the breakout is usually dramatically positive.

Like one of my young associates says, “We need to get this over with so we can get on with life again.”

Countries have defaulted many times in the past, life goes on amidst the many personal disasters.

Real hope springs eternal doesn’t it? One of the finest characteristics of the human condition.

From what I’m seeing in the bond market(s), I’d say that we are indeed heading for a 2008 repeat.

Sometimes you have to wonder if the people/interests behind Obama and the Democrats really understand the worldwide consequences to their desires and actions to accomplish them? Or maybe they do and what happens outside of their bubble of concerns are just unintended consequences.

In any case the United States is currently the Spark-Plug and the fuel that has been keeping the worldwide economy/machine moving along. And when we slow down or perhaps even stop then so will everyone else.

What is that old phrase?

The ends, justify the means.
Never let a crisis go to waste.

Well we put libs in charge.

A lot of us were warning not too - but we were shouted down as racists and hatemongers by the smartest people in the room.

Now we’re all screwed.

So go pay your taxes - libs need the money. :)

The big O was great, an amazing voice and a real songwriter. I also reflect on this,
“For of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: “It might have been”.
John Greenleaf Whittier

Also,
The silence of a falling star
lights up a purple sky
and as I wonder
where you are
I’m so lonesome I could cry
Hank Williams Sr.

Concerning the current economy I think a great summation is the title of a number Hank Junior is known for,
It’s all over but the cryin’
