Canadian conservation officers have euthanized a black bear which they think ate the remains of a convicted murderer.
[Terry] Lake says the animal was put down because bears remember food sources.
Officials suspect the bear pulled the body of Rory Wagner, 54, from his car after he died on a remote logging road.
Wagner pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 1994. He and two others were charged with a killing a man who they believed had sexually assaulted a family member. He served his prison time and was released.
Wagner was reported missing May 23. Police say his death was not suspicious. Hunters found the site last week.

Well, if someone sexually assulted a family member of mine, I might be a murderer too.

If I had a nickel for every time that I've seen a headline like that one, I'd have, um, a nickel.
There are enough sub-plots in this story for a whole soap opera.
Well that’s unfortunate for the bear! I would have given the bear a medal and offered it a job in the prison courtyard so that it would have a buffet every day.
What source, convicted killers???
The bear didn’t kill him, it ate him after he was dead.

It’s because the bear was black, wasn’t it. I bet if it was a polar bear, he would have walked. Racist Canadians.

I said the same thing to myself from the beginning.
I would have set the little guy free in the middle of the Capitol (District of Crooks).
But then, that would have been a form of cruelty to animals.
But anyway, he did do us a favor. He got rid of that sicko.
I would have freed him in a safe area…safe to the bear.
I am very sorry for the poor bear.
The bear ate carrion, Wagner having committed suicide days earlier.

UPDATE: Officials have confirmed Saturday morning one of the bears trapped has been euthanized. A necropsy will likely be performed in the coming days to confirm the bear was the animal that ate Wagner's remains.
Unfortunately it was the right call. Nothing worse in the wild than a predator with a taste for human flesh.
was that dead guy Hala approved for that bear?
If someone assaulted anyone in my family I would consider it a fair deal if they were made into bear poop.
Especially if they were alive to enjoy as much of the experience as possible
