Public sector unions have reached their high water mark. Let the cleanup begin as the red ink recedes.
Despite a last-minute smear campaign accusing Scott Walker of fathering an illegitimate love child, the governor’s recall election victory sends a clear message that should resonate around the nation: The fiscal cancer devouring state budgets has a cure, and he has found it. The costly defeat for the entrenched union interests that tried to oust Walker in retribution for challenging their power was marked by President Obama’s refusal to lend his weight to the campaign for fear of being stained by defeat. We’ll see how well this strategy of opportunistic detachment serves in the fall as Obama reaches out to unions for support.
This fight is not without precedent. Progressive patron saint Franklin Delano Roosevelt—who more than any other president set our country on a course away from the founding principles of limited government—knew that public sector unions would be the death of the social welfare state he worked so hard to create. I will bet any money if the average worker in private industry was making more than the average worker in government, Walker would have lost.
It is no more complicated than that.
In actual reality the government workers make 30% more than their counterparts in private sector for equivalent work. That is simply unfair, unsustainable and unwise.
All public service organizations being subsidized by taxes should be/must be free of organized unions. The public must have voting control over these organizations. The public no longer can trust appointed administrators to serve it’s interests because they become contaminated with the same greed for taxpayer money.
Public sector unions are unconstitutional as hell. They diminish the power of We The People by unduly influencing the election and actions of politicians.
Former state Sen. John Lehman, D-Racine leads state incumbent Republican Sen. Van Wanggaard, with 36,255 votes to Wanggaard's 35,476 votes, according to unofficial results with all precincts reporting.
Three Republicans won state Senate races Tuesday in Wisconsin, but with Lehman winning Racine County, the Democrats will take control of the Senate and gain the 17-16 majority.

Don’t know when they’ll use that Senate majority. The WI legislature is out of session, and won’t reconvene until next year — after the November 2012 elections when, after the redistricting from last year, the GOP is expected to pick up a net of 2 more seats in the Senate.
So, LOL Dems. Enjoy your Senate majority! Pass lots of legislation, hahahahaha!

I do believe that the public sector employees will be seeing their packages reduced closer to the “new normal” that their employers (taxpayers) have been dealing with for years now. Here in NJ, the public sector had gotten so bad it was similar to the “Quartering Act” (in which colonists had to put up British soldiers prior to the American Revolution). Each household has been paying the bill for .25 teachers, .25 law enforcement personnel, .25 firemen/emergency personnel, and .25 public works employees; basically here in NJ each household got the bill for “quartering” one public employee (OK, it wasn’t that high a bill, but it was high - while our “real” salaries fell). They elected Christie in response, we’ve had waves of layoffs (that aren’t done yet), and Christie would handily win re-election.
If you rob Peter to pay Paul, you will always have the support of Paul.
Public sector unions are simply a racket geared to directing taxpayer income to the Democratic Party.
Quite simple...public employees should have no better benefits and perks than those of their employers , We the People.
What is best in life?
To crush the Progressives.
To see them flee the district.

That’s about the number provided by the dozen or so tour buses who the unions sent to Racine from out of state.
