Sebelius: ‘We’ll be ready’ if Supreme Court strikes healthcare law By Elise Viebeck - 06/07/12 11:53 AM ET

President Obama's top health official told an audience Thursday that the administration will be prepared to react if the Supreme Court strikes down its healthcare reform law.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said she is "confident and optimistic" that the high court will uphold the law, but added "we'll be ready for contingencies" if it does not.

The remark, at a White House town hall on women's health, comes as the president and Democrats brace themselves for the court's decision, which is expected by the end of the month.

A report last week said Obama has privately expressed concerns he could have to revisit healthcare issues in a second term — an attitude that contradicts the confidence he's expressed publicly that the court will rule in the law's favor.

"Frankly, we're just working as hard as we possibly can to get ready for 2014," when new portions of the law will be implemented, Sebelius told the friendly audience Thursday.

"It's best to anticipate that the law is fully constitutional. ... Some of the deadlines are pretty daunting," she said.

The ruling could come at 10 a.m. on any business day before the end of June, when the Supreme Court will finish its session.

Sebelius called healthcare reform "the most important women's health law in at least 50 years" — on par with Medicare.

"We've been talking to women throughout the country about the Affordable Care Act and about how this law is already impacting their lives," she said. "What the law meant for them is peace of mind.

"Whatever the circumstances … care will be there. Affordable prices will be there. Coverage will be there that you need."

I don’t know if I’ve ever experienced a supreme court decision that would give me such relief... this is the main disaster of this regime... we could absorb all the giveaways, the stimulus, the tarp, but trying to untangle this turkey will be a mess like no other. Please, GOD, we don’t deserve it but please guide this court to sever it, root and branch. Amen.

You need a lethal injection, a crematorium and an urn.

ALL of which you must pay for, BEFORE you are killed.

The question that's always in the back of Sebelius’s mind is...”what would Tiller The Killer Do?”

He’s only confident because his narcissistic self CANNOT believe that he won’t win the election. Seeing reality is not one of the guy’s strong suits.

I am a senior. I just received notice yesterday that my co-pay ins will be going up $200 every trimester. That makes my co pay cost me $3000 a year. This is tough on social sevurity. They said it was going up because of my age. I am a young 73

It still amazes me that they are trying to now promote this as a “most important” women’s health issue! What about “keep your laws off my body”? Have these “progressives”, and “feminists” forgotten that quickly? Who is/was lying? You can’t have it both ways... You either keep the gov’t OUT of private medical decisions, or you open yourself up to the gov’t controlling ALL of your medical decisions. It will no longer be “your body”, it WILL be the “Government’s Property”, and you better believe there will eventually be fines for ANYTHING they deem to be “bad for your health” whether it is or not. Mandatory vaccinations, no matter for what, or what your religious/moral beliefs, etc... Insanity in its highest form.

I’d really like to hear what these “contingencies” they have planned are...

That’s why Cheney had the transplant now. It was either now or never.

I would wager their "contingency planning" starts with this instruction: Ignore the SCOTUS decision...

“Whatever the circumstances … care will be there. Affordable prices will be there. Coverage will be there that you need.”>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Looks like the Obama fascists are planning to disregard the ruling if SCOTUS strikes the law. That will set the stage for some very serious conflict, under which fascists supposedly flourish, but the Obama fascists underestimate the American people and their defence of the Constitution.

Oh yes, make no mistake, Obama and his supporters are fascists , good read:

After all these years of fighting for so-called equal rights, the main point Sebelius can make is that women need a law that gives them peace of mind.

And men become unpersons. Identity politics in the raw.

I would wager their "contingency planning" starts with this instruction: Ignore the SCOTUS decision...

Yeah, citing Andrew Jackson as precedent: "Chief Justice Marshall has made his decision. Now let him enforce it."

And promptly initiated the Trail of Tears.

But that will be a very bold posture on Barky's part, with only Dingy Harry Reid and six months between him and impeachment.

I don't know why John Boehner is restraining the House from impeaching AG Eric "Superior Knowledge" Holder. They should have impeached four months ago, so the Dims would be spending their time right now, defending Holder in the Senate with the public looking down their throats.

I swear, it's because the RNC wants Obama returned to office so he can finish Obamacare .... and take the heat for it, while private employers dump their healthcare plans (which was the whole idea in the first place, from the GOP side).

It’s getting to the point where there are just way too many Whitehouse officials to impeach in one session of congress, but then that was probably Zero’s plan from the beginning.
