Jesse Jackson: We Are Going to March on Gun Shops
Townhall ^ | 6/4/2012 | Katie Pavlich

Posted on 06/07/2012 7:05:02 PM PDT by neverdem

Last night in Racine, Wisconsin, while demanding jobs for the unemployed, Jesse Jackson decided to slam job creating gun dealers and called for a march on gun shops all over the country. h/t Katy Abram

"Guns out, jobs in."

Jackson wants to get rid of the very thing that has kept the economy afloat during Obama's presidency. The firearms industry has not only created jobs in the past three years but has also provided the government with a steady revenue stream.

NSSF today released a newly commissioned report detailing double-digit gains in jobs and other data showing the industry has been a leader in the nation’s economic recovery. The report can be viewed at http://nssf.org/impact.

Firearms industry members on Capitol Hill were briefed on such remarkable statistics as the 30.6 percent increase in jobs between 2008 and 2011, a 66.5 percent increase in economic impact and a 66.5 percent increase in federal taxes paid by industry companies.

Armed with the good news of the report and recognizing that jobs and the economy are of major importance in the November elections, industry executives are meeting today with elected officials during the NSSF-sponsored Congressional Fly-In.

“During difficult economic times and high unemployment rates nationally, our industry actually grew and created more than ten thousand new, well-paying jobs,” said NSSF President Steve Sanetti. “Our industry is proud to be one of the bright spots in this economy.”

More:

Companies in the United States that manufacture, distribute and sell firearms, ammunition and hunting equipment employ as many as 98,752 people in the country and generate an additional 110,998 jobs in supplier and ancillary industries. These include jobs in companies supplying goods and services to manufacturers, distributors and retailers, as well as those that depend on sales to workers in the firearms and ammunition industry. [1]

These are good jobs, paying an average of $46,858 in wages and benefits. And today, every job is important. In fact, in the United States the unemployment rate has reached 8.2 percent. This means that there are already 13,430,000 people trying to find jobs in the state and collecting unemployment benefits. [2]

Not only does the manufacture and sale of firearms and hunting supplies create good jobs in the United States but the industry also contributes to the economy as a whole. In fact, in 2012 the firearms and ammunition industry was responsible for as much as $31.84 billion in total economic activity in the country.

The Country Also Benefits from the Taxes Paid by the Industry

Not only does the firearms and ammunition industry create jobs, it also generates sizable tax revenues. In the United States the industry and its employees pay over $2.07 billion in taxes including property, income, and sales based levies. [3]

Mankind had other species but they died out long ago.

I'm not sure I would bet money on that.

You do that, you miserable race-baiter and you’ll wish you’d just shut up and stayed home!

You’re dumb as a box of rocks if you think they’ll sit by and let it happen!

My father really hates Jesse Jackson for all the race extortion he pulled on Toyota.

Just an attempt to exort money from the gun makers. After the gun makers tell him to get stuffed, he will fade back into the swamp.

He really should get up a posse and hit the gun shows. That would be cool.

Yeah. Just crash in there and start kicking ass, like No-Limit Trayvon.

With the knowledge that the boyz in the hood don’t carry legal firearms, what Jesse wants is to prevent law abiding citizens from being able to protect themselves from his homies.

Go Jesse, you da man.
The race baiting card won't play any more so you've leaned a new trick to keep the money flowing in for your $3,000 Italian suits.

(good doggy, here's a bone for ya.)

Brazil does not have any “Black Community Leaders” like Jesse and Al.

Not surprisingly, they have no race problems that I could discern.

One of my Brazilian friends says that the U.S. is not the real Melting Pot. Brazil is. To her the U.S. is more of a tossed salad.

Angry black people shouting racist abuse outside of gun shops (JJ is on tape saying the gun industry is a white supremacist plot) is a great way to sell more guns. Honestly folks people are getting nervous about the great rumors of the “Day the EBT card stops working.”

He should be ashamed of his words and actions.

He should be marching on the homes of drug gang leaders.

But he won’t. Because he is afraid of them. And if they went out of business, Jesse would be out of business.

Jesse needs people to be downtrodden so he can pretend to stand up for them.

I have always been a huge fan of concealed carry laws but have been conflicted about open carry laws.

I think this seals it for me. I was having a hard time imagining what type of situation might make me feel the need for open carry.

If the idiot Jackson wants to incite the rabble outside of my local gunstore, I would like nothing better than to show up to greet him with a few dozen of my friends armed to the frick’n teeth in full open carry mode.

The only question would be what to wear? I was thinking two matching Para 14 .45s with an extra 140 rounds of +P ammo.

Jesse Jackson is stupid...always was, is and always will be.
He’ll back down once he’s looking at the wrong end of a cocked .44 Mag. Then again, maybe he won’t...he’s pretty stupid.

I’m sitting here squinting to make sure I’ve got this story right, and that it’s not satire.

Taxpayers ought to march on Welfare offices, demanding back what has been stolen from them, for 30+ years.

The black community ought to march on JJ and the Democratic HQ, demanding that their strong families and cohesive communities be returned back to them in return for the millions that have been extorted to keep these Dons in power.
