Pelosi: Those bishops suing HHS don’t speak for the Catholic Church
Hot Air ^ | June 8, 2012 | Ed Morrissey

Today, a series of protests around the nation for religious freedom will take place, in part to support the 43 Catholic institutions and dioceses that have filed suit against the HHS contraception mandate as an unconstitutional incursion on the free expression of religion. CNS News went to the most important and well-informed Catholic in American politics to get her reaction to the lawsuit, and to find out whether she supports it:

“Well, I don’t think that’s the entire Catholic Church,” Pelosi responded. “Those people have a right to sue, but I don’t think they’re speaking ex cathedra for the Catholic Church. And there are people in the Catholic Church, including some of the bishops, who have suggested that some of this may be premature,” Pelosi said.

As for excommunication, I doubt it would have any more effect upon Pelosi than would a lobotomy.

Fixed that for you.

Just like the Pope doesn’t speak for the Catholic Church on abortion.

Oh, wait. He does.

Just for the record, that photo of the exceedingly evil Pelosi is NOT from a church. Its a photo of her IN SYRIA being far more respectful of Islam than she ever is of Christianity.

Oh, and she is illustrated here with her good buddy, the blood thirsty socialist mass murdering gangster tyrant ruler of Syria.

Who would want a person who looks like a wax museum ‘walking dead’ exhibit that just came to life acting as their spokesman? I thank my lucky stars that Pelosi doesn’t agree with me on anything.

I may not like certain Republicans because they’re too leftist for my liking, but at least they can articulate a thought without their eyes being glazed over, their arms extended out in front of them, and exhibiting a lurching advance at the time of their presentation.

The leadership of the Left in the U. S. is made up of these types or someone who received their degree and never spent a day in the private sector in their lives, and looks at us as if doing so makes one unclean and unworthy of being heard.

And then there’s the Kenyan, who accomplished nothing in his personal life, which qualified him perfectly to accomplish nothing in his public life.

He was gifted his positions by a political apparatus that manipulated the masses for him.

Hell hath no fury like that of a spurned woman..., or a spurned Leftist ideologue. One can only imagine what this Kenyan will have to deal with, once he is no longer someone whose crew has to inflate him each morning before he starts his day.

Good luck with that Barack. You’re the Cinderfella whose glass slipper will be tossed in the trash bin...

Don’t stand by the phone waiting for it to ring. It won’t.

Pelosi, you’re just breaths away from the same fate. Enjoy the spotlight will you can. Soon you’ll be sitting at home while folks fondly remember you as Nancy Who?

I posted that picture because I KNEW it was from Pelosi’s dhimmi appearance in Syria. Excommunicate her now!

I really don’t understand why the Pope doesn’t score a double and excommunicate Pelosi and Biden.

——Wow “St. Pelosi”! Somebody please excommunicate her! I can’t believe the Church allows her to stick around she must have some dirty laundry on them.——

More likely that they’re closet socialists or Marxists, who were trained in the sixties & seventies.

The problem is, as long as the Vatican fails to rebut Pelosi publicly, many people believe she is speaking for them.

Silence equals acceptance which leads to reduced membership.

I can just see Pelousi when she gets to meet Jesus:

“Well, You don’t speak for....whoops.”

Somewhere, a Cardinal is not doing his duty.

Sounds like glass half empty. So what are their good points?? :)

Dems got too used to the R primary hurting Romney and easily making Rs in congress look like fools. It was too easy for them up till recently. Now that the primary is over and Obama's so called 'marriage equality' has united many so-cons with other Republicans against Obama along with the worsening economy, and Walker kicking their butts as well as the MSM asking them questions, Dems are terrified getting a real race on their hands.

Well, not exactly. Each bishop in his own diocese teaches ex cathedra. The papal ex cathedra is a phantom. The pope teaches with varying degrees of definiteness. He makes the degree of definitiveness apparent by the language he uses.

He doesn’t have to use the words “ex cathedra” in issuing a teaching in order for the teaching to be infallible and irreformable. He teaches “from the chair” in a lot of instances where he does not claim the highest level of definitiveness.

If you want to see what defnitive infallible language looks like, look at Evangelium Vitae (1995). It contains three infallible, irreformable teachings (that taking of innocent human life is always wrong, nothing can make it right; that abortion is an instance of taking of innocent human life, that euthanasia is an instance of the same).

Actually, no.

There is no way to effectively rebut her. If she were excommunicated, she’d use the same tactic: who sez I’m excommuinicated? Just cuz some lousy bishop says I’m excommunicated don’t mean I’m excommunicated.

And the media will take her side. The bishops threw away their ability to excommunicate by not using it years ago.

Now this idea that the Catholic Church’s authority rests in the majority of its members is deeply engrained. The bishops, to Pelosi and to all the movers and shakers in this society, are just figureheads, ceremonial fools behind the times. The “real Church” is with progressives like her.

Yes, that’s idiotic. But it’s only idiotic to us. To most people today, it convinces. THat’s why she says it. It works.

And NOTHING anyone can say will change the mind of most of the people in this country. The meme that the hierarchy of the Church is behind the times, hopelessly benighted, meaningless, has taken root.

I agree that she should be excommunicated. But that will only carry weight with the people who already know she’s a fraud. She will turn her eventual excommunmication into a badge of honor among most of the chattering class. When she is finally excommunicated it will only prove to the cognoscenti that the Church is
hopelessly
behind
the
times.

Only a bunch of eeeeeevvvvviiiiiilllllll benighted stoooopppppiiidddd men would excommunicate her. So her excommunication proves the Church is stoooooppppiiiiidddd and benighted.

There is no way to win this one. The only way out is through the fire.

I feel your frustration—remember Vatican II? But if the Church took steps to refute all the junk theology out there, individually, it’d have time & resources for nothing else. If there were any doubt about what the Church teaches on the issues Nancy feels she must address, there’d be no fuss whatsoever about what she’s preaching. Because there’s a “fuss,” it must be pretty clear where the Church stands, thus obviating any need for clarification from the bishops. The way I see it (and it’s probably not exactly the most charitable reaction), she’s not worth an excommunication.

I think Pelosi is saying that since is a Catholic (so she says) she ‘Speaks’ for the Church, not the Bishops.

The Pope and Nancy Pelosi are on the same stage in front of a huge crowd.

The Madame Speaker and The Pope, however, have seen it all before.

To make it a little more interesting, Madame Speaker says to the Pope, "Did you know that with just one little wave of my hand I can make every Democrat in the crowd go wild?"

He doubts it, so she shows him. Sure enough, the wave elicits rapture and cheering from every Democrat in the crowd. Gradually, the cheering subsides.

The Pope, not wanting to be outdone by such a level of arrogance, considers what he could do...

"That was impressive, the Pope says, "But did you know that with just one little wave of MY hand I can make many people in the crowd, and many around the world, go crazy with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display like that of your subjects, but will go deep into their hearts, and they will forever speak of this day and rejoice."

The speaker seriously doubts this, and says so. "One little wave of your hand and so many people will rejoice forever? Show me."

So the Pope slapped her.
