The "Rubio is not qualified because he is not a Natural Born Citizen" folks, here on FR, need to get that word to Jeb Bush because apparently, he doesn't know it. Come to think of it, Marco Rubio must not know it either or he would remove his name from consideration. Come on anti-Rubio FReepers; do your job. Let Jeb and Marco know that Marco isn't qualified. (Is this where I insert the "sarcasm" emblem? [/sarc] )

Jeb was a really good Governor for Florida, he really was. But he needs to keep his nose out of it. Rubio has a very bright future in Conservative politics if he stays the course and doesn't start to pander to the beleif that we should ‘compromise’ with liberals.

I hope that he isn't inclined to accept if Romney offers. He has his own path to greatness.

actually Rubio is not as bad as Mittens....

and it is a smart political move....a florida born, Cuban Hispanic...he could give the party a strong Hispanic vote this november....

let it be known I am NOT hispanic(though my 2 nieces and a nephew are 1/2 hispanic) dispite my name....Vaquero is what I shoot...Cowboy(the translation) is what I aspire to at the range.

As much as I like Rubio, because his parents were not citizens until after he was born, he has the same disqualification as Obama does to be president. Neither satisfy the “natural born” clause.

Jeb was a good governor but now acts primarily as a weather vane.
Seriously, if Jeb picks Rubio, you pretty much know the direction NOT to go.

The entire Bush family needs to just go away and shut their mouths. Their first two pathetic presidencies led to the Clinton's and now the Marxist foreigner.

The Bushes need to go away and not return.

the Rubio camp DOES know he isn’t eligible as i spent 15 minutes on the phone talking with a staffer explaining, in excruciatingly plain language, that anyone having one or more foreign citizen parents at birth is a citizen... but CANNOT be a natural born citizen as they can also be a citizen of another country

the term, natural born citizen, means someone is a citizen NATURALLY ... as there are no alternatives.

this is a very simple concept ... that has been in use since long before the founders used it in the Constitution

additionally, the Rubio camp could reject any such offer... and follow it up with a ‘teachable’ moment to explain on a national stage the simplistic reason why he cannot accept any such honor

in so doing, he would show that upholding the Constitution (ie: the foundation of all law in the US) is the utmost priority in a nation of laws

I really don’t care what Jeb Bush has to say.

We have had enough Bush’s.

Especially enough Barbara Bush.

Besides the birth issue, Rubio is a moron and can’t take care of his own finances, much less the countries. Hell, his home was foreclosed on and has a negative net worth. His credit is worse than mine..

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Who to pick ???

Obama whose father was born in another country and not a naturalized American citizen when he was born...

Or Romney whose father was born in another country and not a naturalized American citizen when he was born...

and Rubio whose father was born in another country and not a naturalized American citizen when he was born...

Does TWO non-citizen fathers hold more weight ???

Is that closer to an NBC ???

Maybe Rubio should spend a little more time in the Senate -- aka be a little more seasoned before becoming one heartbeat away from the Presidency.

For me, the natural born citizen is the least concern--although he, like any candidate, should be fully vetted. The question of natural born citizen should be a valid concern, otherwise we'll start getting RINOs tossing up trial balloons for the likes of Ahnohld.

I recall hearing Rubio for the first time in one of the FL debates against Christie. He was impressive.

However ....

#1 he is a Senator. Senators do no make good executives. Especially when ... [see #2]

#2 he has too little political or executive experience.

We already have two novices without executive experience in the WH. Neither the presidency nor the vice presidency should be OJT positions.

Get experience. Then run for office. Not the other way around.

I like Rubio, but he is a bit of a soft shoe, we need a warrior in this battle, we need a “Spartacus”, Allen West is Spartacus!

I don't care who Rommney picks, I am not voting for him.

But as far as "qualifications" go, Rubio is as qualified as the individual that currently occupies the White House.

I think a more pertinent question is the author’s name. What the heck kind of name is “Shushannah”?. That is atrocious.
