Just making another note.

You should make a lot of notes.

Then grease them up and roll in them.

You’re kidding, right? You aren’t really as stupid as you seem, are you?

Well Rifleman, I'll admit that I started out kidding around but as I'm looking at this, I'm wonder where the Common Sense is.

Jailing every man for battery on his wife is zero tolerance, like a prison or the TSA for that matter.

Common sense shows me this guy got angry when his wife took the Lord's name in vain, a violation of his religious belief. She upset him with her verbal assault and he *reacted* by slapping her "upside the head". No marks but under zero tolerance, the guy goes to jail for battery. Who benefits? Not the wife nor the husband. The court system and the jail. There's revenue in them thar slaps upside the head.

NO BODY on this thread (cept one) sees the infringement of the wife on the husband's rights. We have been programed by the justice system to accept the man's inferior role because there's money to be made in the courts, in the jailing and in the divorce proceeding that could follow.

The current legal procedure is really more pathetic than my little exercise.

"There are thousands of religious fundamentalists who would kill you for saying something offensive about their religion. "

True and almost all of them are Muslim. But that doesn't make their actions or response righteous. Is something automatically moral because thousands of people do it? I guess homosexuals and adulterers and thieves and cannibals aren't doing anything wrong because there are thousands of people who have done the same thing.

Women are all the same. “Get a job. Get off my sister. Stop dealing from the house.”

I'm not really interested in your responses because you appear not a reasonable man. You appear, to me, to want to force your world-view upon me rather than convince me of your merit. Also, you have a pocketful of red-herring.

Stop speaking to me until you have something valid and convincing, please.

In other words you don’t have a counter argument. So you want me to shut up.

Your argument so far consists solely of some people will kill you for offending them, so people shouldn’t be allowed to say anything offensive.

I’ve seen that happen when the cop got frustrated with both.

There are thousands of religious fundamentalists who would kill you for saying something offensive about their religion.

And ever single one of them would be committing 1st degree murder. If these are truly your beliefs you belong on an Al Quada site or attending a mosque, not professing faith in the Lord.

#1 It was her house too. #2 Hitting is bad. #3 Taking the Lord’s name in vain is bad. #4 They should both be ashamed.

America was founded primarily by Christians who fled Europe because the state rulers in Europe told them how they had to worship God.

They left Europe because they couldn’t speak the truth as they saw it. They got a heavy does of the tyranny that occurs when a King or a small group of people or even a majority gets to determine what is true and what is not.

That’s why America’s bill of rights has Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religious Expression. They are fundamental human rights, and they shouldn’t be oppressed just because some individuals or some religions have anger management issues.

You’re so good at noting things!

Also good at calling daddy to protect your sorry ass when you can’t quite figure out what’s being discussed.

Feel free to ping whomever you think might save your little princess
butt from having things said to you that make you sad.

Ponies and rainbows for you! Yay!

They should both be ashamed but only one committed an offense that was against the law.

And if the guy is a fundamental Christian, then he needs to get into the Word, because his reaction was NOT a Christian reaction.

Christians are to be slow to take offense and quick to love others. Christians if married to an unbelieving spouse are suppose to be silent and lead by example. (That doesn’t mean hitting your spouse, that means loving her despite her faults.)

Look, Danny. You seem like a good chap but I'm afraid you come across as a brow-beater and way off topic.

Please re-read my post #42 where I'm about as clear as I can be. Then, take some time to reply back to that specific post, particularly about Common Sense, and see whether you can convince me or change my understanding of Common Sense with your convincing item.

Perhaps it would be instructive for you to explain your Common Sense understanding of this particular situation in Florida. Thank you very much.

I didn’t comment on whether or not he should be jailed because I don’t know how badly hurt she was (if at all) or whether or not it was the first time he had hit her.
