Jeez, you'd think the birthplace of the English language would get it right. The ‘’victim’’ here is the 4 year-old child. The guy beaten to death is the ''perpetrator''.

Worse, "The Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to perform an autopsy on the victim to determine what caused his death."

Why waste the money to "determine the cause of his death"?

The cause of his death is that he was Evil and the poor Dad was righteous.

Thank god the father didn't have a gun, or he might have killed the guy!

What? What's that? He did? Without a gun?

Nevermind ...

Was it the father’s daughter or the molester’s daughter. The headline is confusing. But the man who killed the creep was right to do so even if she wasn’t either one’s daughter.
The very last paragraph seems to make it clear (finally!) that the rescuer is the girl's father.

But you are right. F- for the headline writer, and F- for the copy writer.

Meanwhile, back in Texas, double A+ for the rescuer of that little girl.

Really? I thought he tripped over a barn cat.

Well, that’s what I’d tell the court if I were subpoenaed as a witness for the prosecution, anyhow.

People who can beat other people to death with their fists are very cool indeed.

I was going to post the same comment, but decided to read through the comments first to see if anyone else noticed that up=down, right=wrong, perp=victim.

My great grandmother told me about a child molester they caught in the area she lived around 1910. She said the menfolk took him on a midnight tour of the steelworks and showed him the smelter.

She said he must have left town because nobody ever saw him again.

Let’s see if the ACLU or La Raza say anything. I sure hope they do and then get slammed back to the stone age. Or maybe Obamagabe will interject something.

I’m glad to see this guy is from Texas. There’s no way in hell a grand jury from Texas will indict him. Any other state, I might worry.

I guess, with any homicide, you have to have at least a perfunctory investigation, but after they get that out of the way, if the story checks out, give the man a medal.

How does George Zimmerman get a change of venue to Texas?

Well, this is in Texas so I wouldn’t expect the prosecutors to bring charges. If they did it would be a waste of the tax payers’ money since he would never be found guilty of anything. This is the kind of case that would scream out, justifiably, for jury nullification.

Back in ‘42 when nearly all the Sheriff’s deputies were gone to the Army, we had a guy who was molesting his own daughters. A bunch of the local men, mostly farmers, got together and had a “talk” with him.

He must have been very sorry for what he had done ‘cause the overworked sheriff found him the next day, hanging from a tree limb. The sheriff called it suicide alright, but did comment on the rope around his wrists. It was some of the same stuff he had around his neck.

All the people who ‘witnessed’ this suicide are long gone now, so I can tell you that my dad was with the group that went to talk to him. Dad was sober when he left the house and sober when he came home, but he did a lot of drinking before he went to bed.

Here in California, they would have tried the father for murder.

And probably the daughter for prostitution.

“Sheriff Micah Harmon said the victim, a 47-year-old Gonzales man,”

He’s not a victim. He’s a dead dirt-bag.
