Two law enforcement officers fired a total of 33 rounds at an armed man who had threatened suicide Sunday, striking him with four or five shots, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. James Jacob Jardina, 45, who had addresses in Myersville and Smithsburg, remained hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday night at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
Jardina was shot when he pointed a handgun at a Washington County sheriff's deputy and a Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police officer at a park-and-ride off Md. 66 near Boonsboro, the sheriff's office said in a news release. Responding to a call about Jardina, who had called his wife threatening suicide, the officers found him in the lot, the sheriff's office said. After starting to pull away, Jardina got out of his truck and approached the deputy and the DNR officer with a 9 mm handgun.

If he had been a dog they would only have needed one shot.
Yes he did....
The only thing I find surprising about the article was that a Florida law enforcement agency wasn’t involved.
Well that was very helpful of them.
They hit him with 15% of the shots fired at best.
No more donuts for them.
He’s in critical condition. Time will tell!
They fired 33 shots, he is still living and they prevented him from committing suicide. It’s a mixed bag of results, I’m glad the guy has an opportunity to find his way again...but I question the training and marksmanship of the cops.
Where’s one of those ‘FAIL’ posters?
Well, to be truthful, the dog would have be cornered on the man's front porch, or chained up in the back yard.
We had a similar case here locally not too long ago where a family member called 911 to say their son was depressed and suicidal.
So the cops, being that they exist to serve and all that, obligingly dropped what they were doing and came right over and killed him.
Maybe that's why DHS is in the market for 400 million rounds of ammo - a lot of Barney Fifes out there to supposedly enforce Mordor's aspirations for a police state.
If the man recovers from this, would he be cured of the suicidal tendency?
BTW, who pays the medical bill?
“But at least he didn’t commit suicide.”
But at least he didn’t try to eat someone.
With rifles???
Range time, definitely need more range time.
BTW, in Marland, is 10 rounds, like Jardina had, considered a 'cache' or that an 'arsenal'?
It really begs the question, ‘were they aiming at him?’ Keystone cops.
Maybe they should try some Voodoo Doughnuts from Portland, OR before shooting. The magic is in the hole!!!

Was that all the ammunition they had?
