Did Mr. Harrington also allow that the molester may have gone “too far” in assaulting a 4-year-old girl?
BTW, I don’t know the details of this case, but when practical I’d advise a Shoot, Shovel & Shut Up approach for this sort of scenario.
I will pray for the father. He has saved his child and who knows how many more from that monster.
He should’ve beat him to death then shot him.
this is the case where a molester was being extradited and transported. As he was being taken through the airport, the father had been waiting by a bank of pay phones pretending to be on a call. When the criminal passed close by, the father pulled out a firearm and shot him fatally. Texas did not try him as it would have been impossible to find a jury to convict him.
The only thing the goverment can do is give nifong his license back to prosecute or import angela corey. Assuming it was the attacker of the little girl, the only way the government could obtain a charge let alone a conviction is unethically and immorally.
I’m with both of you, gentlemen.
This media kissing the criminal’s a$$ BS is p#ssing me off.
Out of curiosity, I looked for this story on DU... The responses were very similar to what was on FR. Maybe a few more, I'm not a violent person, but.., but the overall consensus was pedophiles must die, and dad was a hero.Interesting. Thanks for posting this. I am surprised to hear it and I hope that it reflects a broad opinion out there. It would be nice to think that the country hasn't gone totally insane.
Only when the perp is Black or Muslim...
Then it’s always a “hate crime” and NEVER self defense.....
I think you are talking about a different case than the article discusses?
There is no way they can find a jury in Texas to convict him. Won’t happen.
Oh, I get it. You are making the point that no jury would convict. Sorry.
Upon catching a pervert molesting small children, the best thing to do is kill the pervert, and call the police. This father acted perfectly.
“Damned if you do, damned if you dont.”
In an atmosphere of confusion, laws can be passed taking away rights.
sorry I should have written “this is like the case where...”
An interesting and longstanding Texas legal concept, has a very clear, if odd sounding justification for heat of rage killings.
While this situation may no longer be on the books, it pretty well describes the concept. “A married person comes home to find their spouse in bed with a stranger. If they shoot to death one or the other, their action is considered to have been rational, and thus murder. However, if they kill both, the killing may be justified as heat of rage, a form of temporary insanity.”
On the surface this seems to be ridiculous, a 2-for-1 discount. But there is a deeper logic involved.
The assumption is that the married person in such a situation *may* see their spouse as an asset, and the other person as an interloper; *or* they *may* blame their spouse for the transgression, and not blame the other person. But both of these are “considered opinions”, thoughtful, and thus beyond “blind” rage. And thus illegal.
But a state of “blind” rage is not thoughtful or considered. In such a state a person just acts, with no thought to the consequences, lashing out at everyone in their focused proximity. They are, as such, temporarily insane.
With this concept in mind, the father’s extreme violence was directed at an imminent threat to his daughter, and was done with just his fists. It would be very easy to plead a “blind rage”, as no thought is apparently involved. The father would have done that as much if it was a bear, not a man.
By Texas law and tradition, the father cannot be blamed for the demise of the molester, or attempted molester.
What part of “He needed killing” can bum rags like Harrington not understand?
What part of “He needed killing” can bum rags like Harrington not understand?
It is not like there was any question of guilt, or any attempt to hide the incident.
When a grown man is caught in the act of raping a 4 year old child, there should be no trial, no rights, no problem. That animal should be killed like a rabid dog as soon as possible,by anyone who is witness to it and can do the killing. This statement goes for ANY man caught in that act even a parent or more especially a parent.
I support the father. That being said: What is it that has turned these “Civil Rights” clowns into god like Guru’s? Why are their comments worthy of reporting? There is a word for them but one may not use it!
This was the perfect proportional response.
This brings out the most visceral feelings one could have for this dad. This dad is the reason we celebrate Father’s day, IMO... and we all understand what a Mamma Grizzly would do. We have enough Sanduskys wandering around and making a mockery of the justice system. Natural law trumps the ACLU.
