Obama Admits He Can't Fix What Bush "Broke", So Why Reelect Him?

RUSH: Man, this guy, Bush, wow. What a tough son of a gun. Look at what this guy Rush has done. Here's Phil in Rockville, Maryland. Welcome to the EIB Network, Phil. Great to have you here.

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Pleasure to talk to you.

RUSH: Thank you, sir.

CALLER: It just came to my mind that Mr. Bush has got to be an absolutely incredible individual if, three years after Mr. Obama was immaculated, he still has not been able to undo all the good works that Mr. Bush did.

RUSH: It is amazing, isn't it? After three-and-a-half years, everything that's happened the last three-and-a-half years, if it's all been Bush's fault, don't we have evidence enough now to know that Obama can't deal with it. Obama doesn't know what to do with it. We need to elect somebody who can stand up to Bush.

CALLER: Absolutely.

CALLER: Yeah.

RUSH: And you're very wise to catch that, Phil. Thanks very much. It's exactly what he's saying. He's gonna blame Bush, and when he doesn't blame Bush, he's gonna blame Europe. Now, common sense tells me, after three-and-a-half years of trying to fix what Bush "broke", obviously we've got somebody who can't do it. What is it that argues for four more years of this guy? 'Cause if we reelect Obama, I'll tell you what's gonna happen. If we reelect Obama, folks, it's gonna get worse. We really are just seeing the tip of the iceberg, and I'm not being cliche about that. Wait 'til Obamacare fully implements, if it does, and the Bush tax cuts go away, and other tax increases, and the 16,000 new IRS agents or whatever the number is. The continued assault on fossil fuels. The investment in all the losing green energy products out there. And, as Obama promised Medvedev, "Hey, once I get reelected, I got lot more flexibility."

Folks, it's gonna get worse. And Obama is admitting he can't fix what Bush "broke". Why reelect him? It's just gonna be four more years of disaster caused by Bush, administered by Obama, who openly admits he can't fix it. 'Cause that's what he's doing. And he's gonna do it in his speech today in a little less than an hour. He'll blame Bush and then he'll blame Europe when he's not blaming Bush. And essentially he's saying that he can't fix this. He's gonna talk about all the efforts he's made, all the programs, all the policies. It just isn't working. It's so bad. That's the thing to keep in mind. That's the thing to ram down the media's throat.

I think this is one of the reasons why they're very disturbed at multiple levels of the Democrat machine, including the media. They're very concerned about this whining and blaming Bush, because at some point you're admitting you're incompetent. If you whine and complain, "This guy screwed it up so bad, not even I can fix it," it's unfixable, is the logical conclusion of this. The worst thing that can be blamed on Bush is Obama's election. That's, to me, what Bush is primarily responsible for.

Obama Admits He Can't Fix What Bush "Broke", So Why Reelect Him?

Mighty good question.

Near as I can tell, he should be reelected to punish white people because Bush was white. But that's not racism.

Romney should tell Obama to MAN UP, take responsibility and stop blaming others for the recession.

The "steak dinner with martini" example he used yesterday should be carried to its logical end as it applies to Obama and his 3 1/2 years. It would go like this:

"It's like you go to lunch and this guy with you orders a big steak with all the trimmings, a martini, and whatever, and when it comes to the table, he gets up and leaves you holding the bill. Then, you order your own, and fancy steaks and trimmings for your family, friends, and lots of folks who've done you favors, and when the waiter indicates they're about ready, you escape out the back door, leaving the owners of the establishment stuck with the costs of everything."

That would be, on an infinitessimally small level, a statement about his own actions since 2009.

I admit I can’t listen to Obama for more than 10 seconds but I haven’t read anywhere that he has actually explained exactly what he thinks Bush did wrong? Ok, Bush destroyed the country, but HOW exactly?

Has anyone thought to ask him?

You're dumb if you have to ask that question.

Now eat your peas.

Listen Obama the mechanic. You towed my car out of the ditch 3 years ago. Since then you have charged me twice what the car is worth. I have been walking since and you tell me you need another 4 years to fix my car because the driver, George Bush was such a terrible driver.

Can I have my keys back?

:: “This guy screwed it up so bad, not even I can fix it,” it’s unfixable ::

That is precisely correct, though. It IS unfixable only because it doesn’t need “fixing” by an avowed Marxist. Let the grown-ups (capitalists) handle it.

“Obama Admits He Can’t Fix What Bush “Broke”, So Why Reelect Him?”

This is the political judo (where you use your opponent’s weight and momentum against them).

Every time someone tries to deflect blame away from Obama by blaming Bush, don’t argue with them—let them have their point.

“OK, George Bush broke the economy, but Obama doesn’t know how to fix it. Why should we re-elect Obama when he doesn’t know how to fix what Bush broke? We shouldn’t, because we need someone that know how to fix the economy, and the only person running that knows how to fix the economy is Romney.”

At this point, the focus on now on who knows how to fix the economy (where we want the focus), not on who broke it (where Obama wants it).

Some operational definitions would help too. “We will know the economy is “fixed” when these conditons exist:...” I remember specifically when Biden said that we were embarking on the “Summer of Recovery” and was proclaiming the economy as “theirs” now and that all that would follow would be due to Obama and Biden. Of course at that time he was assuming what would follow was a natural cyclic recovery.

Obamugabe needs to open the second letter, which will instruct him to “sit down and write two letters”.

Of course not but if white people vote to replace Barry Halfwhite with a white man or even with a REAL black man, well then...there is only one reason white people would want to do that...RAAAACCIIIISSSSMMM.

Rush often comes up with some 'its so obvious logic lines' that lends one to say, well duhhhh. How'd I miss that one?

I was fully on board up until this last part... I'd leave it out of any discussion with an opponent.

I asked him. He said, “Well, uh, uh, it’s uh, like he uh, well he uh, he acted stupidly, uh, he uh, didn’t borrow enough, uh, no, uh, he borrowed too much, uh, he uh, well, uh, it was like that you know.

When I read posts at Yahoo and elsewhere blaming Bush I often reply the same way---how and by what? Sure Bush overspent but Obama outspends him by 3X. Blows that argument to smithereens.

It is exactly the question Romney should be asking.

He complains about the deficit but rejects ANY spending cuts. So.......He’s mad because Bush didn’t raise taxes A TRILLION AND A HALF DOLLARS?
