On Monday, Rep. Allen West (R-FL) said that he was dejected after Mitt Romneys avoided taking a strong stand on President Barack Obamas directive enacting portions of the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act. It goes back to what my mother taught me, a man must stand for something, or else hell fall for anything, said West.
Romney appeared on CBS Face the Nation on Sunday where he was asked repeatedly if he would repeal President Obamas directive. Romney avoided taking a firm position on the matter during the interview, but indicated that he supports the underlying reform that the Presidents directive has addressed.
I believe the status of young people who come here through no fault of their own is an important matter to be considered and should be solved on a long-term basis so they know what their future would be in this country, Romney told CBS Bob Schieffer on Sunday.
West told conservative radio host Laura Ingraham on Monday I guess I feel a little bit dejected, by Romneys repeatedly avoiding taking a firm position on immigration.
West said he was firmly opposed to the Presidents move to halt the deportation of the children of illegal immigrants.

Kerry was a perfect choice to play Romney for the debates.
In this election Americans are getting to choose what kind of feces to put on our feces sandwich.
We have been sold out by Congress. I wouldn’t give a Tinkers damn for the whole bunch.
Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say he didn't have a position.
Just turn around...
But the Dims sure are using their ammo very early in the campaign. Already they've about beaten Bain Capital to death for little gain, and they might well be doing the same with amnesty for illegal aliens.
And Rubio shouldn't have had any Dream Act scheme of his own. All that will accomplish is the alienation of many conservatives and the gain of few if any Latino votes.
But the economy will still be here in October and nothing is likely to improve it much to help Obama. And that's why Republicans should not get into a pandering to Latinos contest with the Dims. Make it the economy...
It will be an Honor and a Privilege to share the ride to the camps with all here at Free Republic, should this be our fate.
Posting privileges suspended huh?
That’s what I get for giving them a $1,000 donation on their last fund raising campaign.
No warning, nothing!
That's because Palin knows what she believes and believes what she knows! She doesn't have to "focus group" her positions. She is one of the few politicians I've seen in my almost 60 years who is the real deal.
I don’t either but if he does... blame the gop/e... they own this disaster.

Join the club Allen. We are all dejected.
They sure do. It's up to them to get him elected. I certainly cannot go door to door for the man. I'm not sending money to him. The only thing he may get from me is my vote. I have no reason why anybody should vote for him. I can only give reasons why we should not vote for Obama.

Rubio wrote himself out of the Republican party and into the GOP~e with that one. So utterly stupid of him.
Straw man argument. Legal American Latinos are as opposed to amnesty for illegals as you or I.
Mittens failed to enunciate the constitutional conservative position (which 70% of the American people agree with). Clue: he's not as "severely" conservative as you want him to be.
Totally true, and we don’t need any Republicans waving the amnesty flag around during this election. It won’t gain a dozen Latino votes and it could cost hundreds of thousands of conservative votes if pushed too much.
But the GOP-e are too brilliant to realize that. They’re far more likely to lose a swing state by alienating conservatives than they are to win one by pandering to Latinos.
When you're opponent is destroying themselves, don't get in their way.
If you think that's going to happen through a party apparatus controlled by a President Mitt Romney, I've got the deed to the Brooklyn Bridge right here in my pocket. And it's for sale!
Hope & Change, Republican style.
I wish plain had run. I wish West had run. I have no solutions now since Romney won. My own preference is to try to vote for the best person running which is Virgil Goode, but if he isn’t on the ballot here in my state of Kansas, then I’ll write in someone. Still a long road to that November day. Things might change. I don’t know.
