Tempting Outside; Toxic Inside
June 21, 2012
An Australian study concluded that plainer cigarette packages would make smoking less appealing to teens. In response, the Australian government introduced legislation that would require tobacco companies to replace color, logos, and promotional text on cigarette packages with health warnings and images of diseased lungs. In effect, the Marlboro Man would give way to the Grim Reaper in an effort to reduce the number of deaths caused by smoking. But cigarette packaging isnt the only thing that may be tempting on the outside with a toxic product inside.
The Old Testament book of Proverbs urges us to carefully consider the long-term results of all our choices. The recurring phrase in the end (Prov. 5:4; 25:8; 29:21) is a warning to look down the road and ask if what were attracted to will ultimately lead to joy or sorrow, honor or disgrace, life or death. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright (2:6-7).
The key to avoiding the tragic results of foolish choices is embracing Gods wisdom as our guide through life. Then [we] will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path (v.9).
Theres so much wisdom to be learned,
So many ways for me to grow,
Lord, I would listen like a child,
And learn what You would have me know. K. De Haan
Wisdom is understanding whats really important.

I started with "Brahms, Part 1: The Early Years", and I followed with Brahms, Part 2: The Chamber Music Years".
On Friday, it's "Brahms, Part 3: The Orchestral Years", which will cover the German Requiem through the Third Symphony. I hope I make all this stuff understandable to our folks.

The best way to handle all that Brahms music is to bookmark the thread, and come back any time after to just wallow in the music.

Just a drive by post to say “hi.”
It has been a very tough week.
Alot of pain, and I couldn’t get it under control.
Doc ordered an MRI of my lower spine and left hip,
and they are concerned about the left sided weakness I am having.
Also, Miriam is back in the hospital, in Intensive Care.
They are worried about her heart at this point, and I do not believe her prognosis is good.
Rough sledding, you know?
I’m beat and heading for bed.
Love and miss you all.
I hope to be here this weekend to play music and hang out.
We’ll see how it goes.
Much Love,
Ms.B

Aloha West Texas Rose!
A little anger management is what you need right now, not too much, as matter of fact very little. Let them dig their hole.
We're not supposed to speak of such matters here but WTH, ain't much else going round is there? So bombs away......
(Oh, that's just to help with the hole in a bipartisan act of faith.)

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS!
TATTOO (Click)
Must retire the 0500 0430 Reveille approaches relentlessly. Our Taskmasters vex us with an ever-increasing burden of work. They have sequestered us in a remote chamber known only as The Land of the Lost, which bears a banner over the lintel stating:
ABANDON ALL HOPE, YE WHO ENTER HERE!
They stand and mutely watch over us as we toil hour upon hour without respite.
The Bugler, their minion, his grim visage replete with an evil sneer, already mounts the parapet.
If I can escape their iron grip, Ill chat with you all on the morrow. I can say no more they approach!
Do poor Tom some charity, whom the foul fiend vexes!

Good night, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America!
Godspeed our Troops around the Globe especially those in harms way by virtue of their service and sacrifice we continue to live in Freedom!
